Daryl, Dad, Merle, Michonne and T left to go finish things with the Governor. When they left I brought Sebastian into our cell block, and had him choose a cell to sleep in. He immediately asked me where mine was, and proceeded to choose the one right next to mine, so I guess whenever Daryl and I start having our fun sexy time again, we'll need to be extra quiet so we don't scar this kid even worse.

I've learned that he doesn't really talk much. Maybe it's just because he's scared or shy, but one broken kid can see another, and this kid is very broken. I have no idea what his life was like before this shitty world, and honestly that may be why he's broken. Or something could have happened to him after. What if he lied to me about his guardians not hitting him? I mean he did give up on them pretty easily.

I let him settle into his cell as I made him some oatmeal. Carl was still glaring at me and mumbling things under his breath, but I ignored him. He'll be fine after a while, I just need to give him space, and give dad a chance to talk to him.

Before heading up to Sebastian's cell I grabbed a deck of cards from our dining/gathering area. I thought maybe him and I could play a card game and get to know each other a bit more since I am now responsible for his well being.

When I approached his cell I saw him sitting on his bed staring at the floor. I knocked on the the metal bars of his cell. He looked up at me. "Hey Seb, I brought you some food. It's not much, but it's what we have." I handed it to him, and he took it slowly. "I also brought a deck of cards. Thought we could play go fish or something and get to know each other."

"Why are you being so nice to me?"

"What do you mean?" I was genuinely confused.

"I'm not worth it. I came at you with a gun, and you take me in? Why?" His voice was shaky.

"You gave up your gun. You didn't want to fight. You told me that you have nobody, I wasn't just going to leave you." I explained as I sat down on the bed next to him. "Out in those woods, I saw a very scared little boy, and that is still who I see. I get that moving to a new place is scary. Living with people you don't know and just met, is even scarier. It's okay to feel that way." He stayed silent, as he took a bite of his oatmeal. "Is there a reason why you don't think you're worth it?"

He shrugged. However I know you don't say shit like that unless someone has made you think that way. "Who told you you weren't worth a damn?"

"How did you-"

"Because I was told the same every day for most of my life. I was told that I am worthless, that I'll never amount to anything. They were wrong, and whoever said it about you is wrong too." I sighed, and then turned to look him in the eyes. "You are worth a damn. The people you were staying with, you said they didn't hurt you. Did they?"

"She didn't." He said quietly, just barely loud enough for me to hear him. So the the man who was 'taking care' of him hurt him.

"How did he hurt you?" I asked him, while trying not to have the flashbacks of how Hudson hurt me.

"He would punch me all the time, slap me too." My heart broke for this kid. I'm so glad he didn't go back to them. I will make sure that man never lays a finger on him ever again.

"He'll never hurt you again, I promise. As long as I'm around he can't hurt you." I promised him, and I will do my best to keep that promise.

He finished his oatmeal, and agreed to play go-fish with me. I dealt the cards, and we got to know each other a little bit. I explained that I adopted Sophia after her mother passed away when he said I looked way too young to have a kid. I can tell he's going to be a charmer, just like my Sophia.
