A/N: This is officially the last time jump for a while since we have now reached the 1 year mark!
2 Months Later.
"Mom, do we really need to do this?"
"Yes Sunshine." I rolled my eyes and sighed as I told Sophia yet again to just do as she is told.
"But why? We're safe here." She asked again.
I groaned as I stopped filling up my bag with my belongings and zipped it closed. I turned around to meet both my kids and Carl. "We've been over this. Right now, we are safe." I pointed to Carl. "You need to do this too." He opened his mouth so before he could cut me off with his 'we don't need to do this' speech. "I need you all to listen. Hudson is out there. He could come back. Then we don't know if the Governor is still alive, but if he is, he also poses a threat to us."
"Mom we'll be fine-" Sebastian started, but again I cut him off.
"Stop!" I narrowed my eyes at the trio in front of me. All I asked them to do was to pack a 'go' bag just in case we are ever forced out of our home. I don't think it's a lot to ask. "You will all do this because I am telling you to." I sighed again. "Look, we could get forced out of here someday. Maybe not by Hudson or the Governor..... It could be like at the farm when we got chased out by a massive herd." I explained. "We need to be prepared to leave in case of an emergency."
They stayed silent as I stared at them. Why can't they just do as I ask? Teenagers. They're so stubborn. Sebastian isn't even a teenager yet, but he sure as hell acts like one.
"Just humour me will you?" I asked with my voice raised a tiny bit as I gave them all one of my many knives. I have a lot of them now, since knives are now my main weapon along with my sword. I still use guns obviously, but knives are my expertise. "Put those in your bags." They all took the knives I handed out. Carl and Sophia left after that. I called after my daughter. "I'm gonna check to make sure you packed later! So make sure you do it!"
I turned back to Sebastian who was twirling the knife I gave him in his hand between his fingers. I'd be more worried about him possibly cutting himself, but he's taken after me with his knife skills, while Sophia takes after Daryl with her crossbow. He had asked me to train him, and honestly he's become pretty good.
"You need to pack too Goober."
"I'm aware." He stated.
"Then go do it." I told him sternly.
"I will." He said while approaching me.
"Well what's stopping you?" I asked with annoyance lacing my voice.
"I need to tell you something."
"What is it Seb?"
"Sit down." He pointed to the bed. I looked at him curiously, but not moving. "C'mon, it's important."
I sat down per his request. "Okay. What is this big news?"
"This... it may upset you." He looked at me with a serious expression. What the hell is going on?
"You not getting to the point will piss me off more." I stated letting the annoyance in my voice continue.
"Well, I'm sorry." He said. "I'm just nervous about how you'll react."
I took a deep breath and calmed down. What is he so afraid to tell me? "Alright, I'm calm bud..." I assured him. "You know you can tell me anything."
