Trigger Warning: S. A
It had now been a few days since Lori's death, and people were starting to look at both Daryl and I to lead them since my father is still basically M.I.A. He shows up every once in a while, but not often. The good news however is that he has officially started recognizing the fact that he now has three children. He still won't touch our baby sister though, he literally just acknowledges the fact that she is here, but that's better than nothing. Baby steps.
My baby sister, finally has a name. Judith. Although T believes her name really should be Banshee. There just was absolutely no way I was going to allow my sister to be saddled with that name though.
Glenn, Maggie, and I are all about to go on a run. Honestly Glenn and I are the best runners but where Glenn goes Maggie goes. Daryl doesn't love the fact that I'm going but he knows I can handle myself if we run into trouble.
Right before Glenn, Maggie, and I left the building of the prison, my father walked in, and for the first time in a week he looked clean. He had finally washed off all of the blood and grime off of him, but clearly he was still unstable. He still isn't ready to lead us yet. Which is okay, Dare Bear and I have got it covered.
"Cleared out the boiler block." My father stated.
I then heard Daryl ask my father. "How many were there?"
"I don't know. Two dozen maybe?" Two dozen? Daryl flipped out when I had taken down fifteen alone, and here my father is taking down twenty four? I would call my father out on it, but clearly he needed that release, just like I did the other day when I did the same thing. "I have to get back. I just wanted to check on my kids." My father said.
"Rick we can handle the bodies," Glenn offered. "You don't have to."
"No. I do." My father made his way over to both Daryl and I. "Does everyone have a gun and a knife."
Daryl answered him, "Yeah, we're running low on ammo though."
"Glenn, Maggie, and I are about to go on a run." My father looked at me after I chimed in. I could tell he didn't enjoy the fact that I was leaving, but I think he knows by now he can't stop me. "Glenn found a phone book. There are some places we can look for bullets and formula."
My father gave me a quick nod before Daryl spoke again. "Cleared out the generator room. Axel's there now tryin' to fix it in case of emergency." Wait Axel is fixing it? I could've done that. Not many people know how good I am at that type of stuff. I had to learn how to fix things because Hudson was always destroying shit. I listened as Daryl continued. "We're gonna sweep the lower levels as well."
"Good, good." My father said already heading back to the door.
"Dad. What about Carl and Judith? You said you came to check on us, your kids." I asked.
My father nodded to the corner where Carl was standing while holding the infant in his arms. I guess just seeing them was good enough for him, because after that he did leave again. I just hope he'll be okay soon enough. I miss him.
Glenn, Maggie and I finally made our way outside of the prison and to one of our cars. We started to load it up with anything we may need to bring. Glenn loves to drive, which is fine with me because I don't love driving. So I will happily settle for 'Passenger Princess'. Maggie knows by now that if she goes on runs with Glenn and I, that I get the front seat. As cute as those two are together, I really don't feel like watching him grope her thigh while driving.
I was about to hop in the car when I heard Daryl's gruff voice behind me. "'ey Princess."
"Hey Robin Hood. What's up?" I asked as I turned to face him.
