T.W: Mild Smut.
The next morning we were all forced to say goodbye to Bob. I'm currently waiting for my turn, and I wish I didn't have to say goodbye to him at all. I wish I could've saved him from Gareth, that way he could at least die with all his limbs intact. But I guess that doesn't really matter. What matters is that he's able to say goodbye to his loved ones. I wish Daryl and Sophia were here to say their farewells. I hope they come back soon.
I finally approached Bob after Tara left his side. I've been dreading saying goodbye, but I need to. I sat down on the couch that he was laying on, and grabbed his hand. "I'm sorry." I told him softly.
"For what?"
"For not being able to save you from Gareth." I explained. "I know you were dying anyway, but I wish you could've done so with all your limbs."
"Ehh, it's okay. That leg wasn't that great anyway." He tried his best to laugh. "I'm sorry about your pinky."
I looked down at my now four fingered hand and cracked a smile. "At least it wasn't my most important finger." I lifted up my middle finger, but obviously not in a disrespectful way.
He smiled. "You know, when I met you. I was scared of you." Wow great confidence booster there. "Then I learned that you are only scary to those who pose a threat to your family." He squeezed my hand and looked me in the eyes. "I'm grateful that I got to be part of your family."
"Me too." I gave Bob a small hug before leaving the room to allow others to say their goodbyes.
I then walked over to one of the pews that are near the entrance of the church, and sat down next to my bag of stuff. Days like this remind me of Liam, and how I was never able to say goodbye. I wish he were still here, but at the same time I know that if he still was, my life would be completely different. I wouldn't be married, I wouldn't have either of my kids, I most likely wouldn't even be pregnant. As much as I hate to admit it, Liam's death brought me to my family. If he hadn't died, I most likely never would've found them. It was the good that came from the bad.
I opened my bag and grabbed Liam's note. It's one of the only two things I have left of him. The note and the ring. I was twirling the ring around on my finger while rereading the note I found on him after the barn incident at the farm. I miss him.
"How's your hand?"
I looked up from the note to see Rosita standing next to me. I shrugged. "It's been better. I'll be fine."
She grabbed my hand and started changing the wrapping on it as I continued to stare at the note. "What are you reading?"
"A note from someone I loved." My voice was soft. "It's all I have left of him. Well, besides this ring." I wiggled the emerald ring that Liam got for me on he hand she was trying to bandage up.
"So you were married before Daryl?" She questioned.
"No." I shook my head. "He never got to ask.... I found these while searching him after he died." I didn't want to get into the details about how he died.
"Is this the guy you told Gareth about last night? The guy who you were at your first camp with? Liam?" She questioned.
I wasn't aware that she could hear me in that tiny room I shoved everybody into last night. "Yeah." I replied honestly. "I didn't know you all could hear me."
"It was kind of hard not to hear that name." She stated and looked at he confused, raising a brow. "I had a brother named Liam." She finally finished bandaging my hand.
