Nora's POV:

"Why are the kids here!?"

I repeated my question when I was ignored the first time. My kids shouldn't be away from Hilltop right now. Especially not with these mask wearing freaks running around. I was lucky Alpha didn't kill Henry or I. But the kids, she would've killed them. She made that very clear when she was threatening Avalon's knife over Lydia.

Thinking of how my children could have possibly ended up in this situation, I realized Daryl never would've brought them out here. He would never compromise their safety like this. So I then looked to my repeat offender, knowing that the twins being in this situation is most likely her fault.

"Avalon Rose! What the hell were you thinking?!" I asked Avalon in a harsh tone. She can't keep sneaking out. She will get killed. I ran up to her and grabbed her upper arm roughly to make her look into my rage filled eyes with her teary ones. I don't care if she's crying. I'm tired of this behavior of hers. "I'll tell you what you were thinking! You weren't! What the hell am I gonna do with you, huh? And now, you get your brother involved!?"

"Enough, Mae." Daryl scolded me while grabbing my hand off of her. "Enough."

"It's not enough, Daryl!" I yelled at him. "She needs to learn she can't keep doing this! If that Alpha bitch would have found her they both would've been dead!"

"Mom..." I heard Theodore's soft voice behind me. "It was me. Ave didn't want to leave. I made her. I wanted to help you and Dad."

"What?" I questioned my eight year old son. "You- this was your dumb idea?" He nodded and I was surprised. Theo has never pulled a stunt like this before. "You shouldn't have." I growled at him. "I understand you want to help, I do. But you can't just run off. You could have gotten both your sister and you killed."

"I know, Mom." Theo frowned at me. "I'm sorry. But I couldn't sit and wait for Dad to bring you home. I wanted to help. Your my mom. I needed to help."

"Oh, Bud." I grabbed my son and pulled him in for a hug. "It's okay. I'm okay."

"Wait." I heard Avalon sniffle from behind me, making me turn my head to view hers that's filled with tears. "So I get screamed at, but you talk normally to him and hug him? This was his fault, not mine. I didn't wanna come."

"She's got a point, Mae." Daryl groaned.

I sighed and nodded my head before slowly making my way back over to Avalon. I knelt down on the ground in front of her. "Sweetie, I'm sorry." I started to bring my hand up to her face so I could wipe some of her tears away, but she took a step back from me. "I shouldn't have assumed it was you. You've ran away so many times that I automatically blamed you, that's not fair. I'm sorry."

"You yelled at me." Avalon crossed her arms. "You didn't yell at him."

"I didn't." I nodded my head in agreement. "I didn't yell at him because this is his first offense. He's never done anything like this before. You on the other hand do this all the time. So yeah, I went softer on your brother because he's not a repeat offender. I yelled at you because you are."

"I-is it true?" She asked me weakly through her tears.

"Is what true?"

Theo jumped into our conversation. "Dad told us you've killed over a hundred people. Is it true?"

I then glared at Daryl who was attempting not to even look at me. I have no clue why he would tell them this, but I can deal with his snitch ass later. "Yes.." I sighed. "It's true."

"Daddy said you killed a lot of people 'cause of me." Avalon whined and I glared at Daryl again. He knows not to talk about that specific day. "Why? I didn't want you to."
