Set Up

For the sake of this one shot pretend Percy and Annabeth aren't together after Giant War. No Tartarus.

Leo had been watching. The flirting, the yearning gazes, and the obvious attraction between his co-shipmates was becoming too much for him to stand by and watch.

It was insanity. Two people who were so in love with one another but didn't act on it.

After so long, Leo was sick of waiting. He knew that Percy and Annabeth would need a little push if their relationship was ever going to get started.

So he made a plan. He would recruit a few people and make sure that Percy and Annabeth were placed in a romantic situation with no choice but to act on their feelings.

His first recruit was Grover. He was just as exasperated with two of them and desperately wanted them to get together.

Then he asked Jason for help. He was close friends with both Percy and Annabeth.

His third recruit was Piper. She was a daughter of Aphrodite and had more romantic ideas than men did. Not to mention how invested she was in Annabeth's relationship with Percy.

With a group of people ready to help, he figured out a way to get them together.

It was foolproof.

First he planned a party. It was small and had only a few people apart from the seven.

Percy and Annabeth had both just returned from a quest on the night of the party and were tired, both physically and mentally.

Leo practically had to beg them to get them to agree.

Once they were at the party, he sent in reinforcements.

Jason walked up to Percy and pointed to Annabeth, who Percy was already staring at.

"How was your quest? She doesn't look too beat up." He asked.

Percy shrugged. "We both got a few injuries. Annabeth took a few stab wounds. I got hit by a sword. Nothing major."

"Right. Just a sword hit and stab wounds. No big deal. I get those all the time." Jason replied sarcastically.

Percy smiled. "I'm sure."

"What's going on between you two anyways?"

Percy looked confused. "What do you mean? Annabeth is my best friend. You know that."

"Please, you look at her like she's the last person on Earth and you're telling me there's nothing going on there? No feelings?" He asked.

This was the first part of Leo's plan. To get them both thinking about the relationship between them. To bring whatever feelings they had for each other to the surface.

Percy stuttered. "I don't have time for a relationship."

"Yeah, because you and Annabeth don't already spend every day together. Don't give me that bullshit."

Percy sighed. "So what if I do like her" She's not gonna feel the same. There's no point in going for it if I'm just going to get rejected."

Jason shrugged. "I wouldn't be so sure. I think you're underselling yourself. Look, Annabeth is intimidating. But I really think she might feel the same. I've seen you two together. Maybe think about telling her how you feel." He suggested before setting down his drink and walking away. Leaving Percy to think about what Jason told him.

Meanwhile, Piper was approaching Annabeth, who was sitting alone and drinking a beer.

"What are you doing all alone?" Piper asked.
