By me.
Jason had his feet kicked up on the table, casually flipping through his comic book when Percy strolled into the room, looking unusually serious. Jason raised an eyebrow, glancing up.
"Hey! How was your English exam?" Jason asked curiously.
Percy plopped down on the couch beside him, letting out a deep sigh. "Not bad," he replied, running a hand through his messy hair. "Only one question tricked me."
Jason’s interest was piqued. It wasn’t every day Percy Jackson, of all people, admitted he was stumped by something. “Oh yeah? What was the question?”
Percy leaned back, staring at the ceiling as if it held all the answers. “The question was, ‘What is the past tense form of THINK.’”
Jason blinked, waiting for more. “Okay… that’s pretty basic, man. What did you write?”
Percy’s face was dead serious as he turned toward Jason. “I thought, and thought, and thought…”
Jason nodded slowly, feeling like there was something coming.
“…and I ended up writing ‘THINKED.’”
The room went silent for a solid few seconds as Jason processed what Percy had just said. He stared at his friend, hoping for some sign that Percy was joking. But the more he looked, the more he realized Percy was dead serious.
A snort escaped Jason before he could stop it, which quickly turned into uncontrollable laughter. He doubled over, clutching his stomach as the sheer absurdity of Percy’s mistake hit him.
“Dude!” Jason wheezed between fits of laughter. “You thought and thought and thought and then you wrote… THINKED?”
Percy’s face flushed a little, but he chuckled along with Jason. “Hey, it made sense in the moment, okay?”
Jason shook his head, still laughing. “I can’t believe you, man. ‘Thinked’ – I’m definitely never letting you live this one down.”
Just then, Annabeth walked in, overhearing Jason’s loud laughter. “What’s going on?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Jason, barely able to contain his amusement, pointed at Percy. “He thought and thought and thought and then wrote ‘thinked’ on his English exam!”
Annabeth looked at Percy with a mix of fond exasperation and amusement. “Percy, you didn’t.”
Percy groaned, sinking lower into the couch. “I did.”
Annabeth sighed, but there was a soft smile on her face as she crossed the room and sat beside him. “I love you, Seaweed Brain, but sometimes…”
“I know, I know,” Percy muttered. “I’ll never hear the end of this.”
Jason wiped away a tear from laughing so hard. “You’re a legend, Percy. A true legend.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Percy muttered, finally laughing along with them. “Just wait until your next exam, Grace. Let’s see who’s laughing then.”
Annabeth chuckled, ruffling Percy’s hair. “At least you’re good at fighting monsters, because grammar? Not your strong suit.”
