By me.

Percy Jackson slumped in his seat, casually glancing at the clock ticking away the seconds. The classroom was eerily quiet, the only sounds being the scribbling of pencils against paper and the occasional sigh from someone trying to recall the right answer.

Percy's eyes wandered to the front of the room where Mrs. Hawkins, the math teacher, stood with her arms folded, glancing down at the students like a hawk.

Percy sighed dramatically, slouching deeper into his chair. He knew that he had to pretend to actually try on the test. But math had never been his thing. Not even in a world full of monsters and prophecies.

He tilted his head back, eyes half-lidded as he stared at the ceiling. Mrs. Hawkins would be suspicious if he wasn't doing something, so Percy did the next best thing: he slowly let his eyelids fall shut.

Within moments, his breathing evened out, and the sound of his steady heartbeat became the background noise in his mind. He wasn't really asleep, not exactly.

He'd trained himself to fall into a light, restful state, just enough to slip into a state where the empathy link with Grover would be wide open.

Sure enough, after a few moments of stillness, Percy heard the familiar voice of his best friend:

"Percy," Grover whispered in his head, "are you there?"

Percy smirked, keeping his thoughts as quiet as possible. "Yeah, I'm here. What's up?"

"You're supposed to be taking a test, man," Grover replied, a teasing tone slipping into his voice. "The last time I checked, tests weren't supposed to be an excuse for napping."

Percy opened one eye slightly, glancing at Mrs. Hawkins. She was still monitoring the room, completely oblivious.

"I know, but I've got a trick," he thought, a grin creeping onto his face. "Go ask Annabeth what the answers are, and then tell me. You know she's a math genius."

Grover hesitated for a moment. "Wait, you're asking me to cheat? You really are a genius, Percy! I mean, it's so... wrong, but I get it. I'll go."

Percy's mind wandered for a second as he waited, trying to stay relaxed and keep up the appearance of a sleeping student. Grover's mind returned, buzzing with excitement.

"Okay, okay. I did it. Annabeth gave me the answers, but she totally looked at me like I was some sort of... sneaky satyr. She's smart, but she's also way too good at noticing things."

Percy laughed quietly in his head, almost forgetting where he was. "Yeah, well, that's why you're my ace in the hole. You're the best at sneaky stuff. Now just tell me the answers."

Grover hesitated again. "You know, Percy, I'm starting to think maybe you should just actually study one of these days."

"I'm not here for studying, Grover. I'm here to pass and keep Annabeth happy." Percy chuckled again, now leaning back in his chair, ready to fill in the answers Grover sent him.

The satyr's voice returned, full of mock seriousness. "Alright, alright. Here they are: 1-B, 2-A, 3-D, 4-C, 5-B, 6-D, 7-B, 8-A, 9-A, 10-C... and the bonus question? Well, Annabeth's answer was 'Orestes, you idiot.'"

Percy rolled his eyes, already scribbling down the answers. "Grover, did you seriously just quote Annabeth's exact words on the bonus?"

"Yep," Grover replied, proud. "She said you should know better than to mix up the Greek gods, Percy. That's all you. You really need to pay attention to that stuff."

"Tell me about it," Percy thought as he filled out the last answer. "Alright, Grover. You're the best. I owe you one."

"No problem, Percy," Grover replied, his voice light with amusement. "Just don't let Annabeth catch you napping through your next test. That might be a bit suspicious."

Percy grinned and opened his eyes, stretching dramatically as though just waking up. He looked around to see if anyone noticed. Mrs. Hawkins was still focused on her students, her attention on someone else now.

Perfect.

He filled in the last of the answers, making sure they matched the ones Grover had passed him. His pen stopped, and he leaned back in his seat again, eyes closing as if he were still recovering from the world's most taxing nap.

The empathy link stayed open, just in case he needed anything else. But for now, Percy was content.

The bell rang soon after, and Percy handed in his test with a casual smile, all the while knowing that his "genius" strategy had once again saved the day. And, of course, he'd make sure to thank Grover later... maybe with a few extra snacks from the mess hall.

And as for Annabeth... well, she'd find out sooner or later. Percy was pretty sure she already knew, but she'd never call him out for it. After all, who could blame a guy for making things a little easier on himself, especially when he had the best team around.
