Just as Percy and Annabeth turned to head back to camp, still holding hands, they heard a round of exaggerated coughs and someone dramatically clearing their throat. They froze, knowing exactly what was coming.

Turning around, they found Nico, Grover, and Thalia stepping out from behind a tree, smirking like they’d just won the lottery. Thalia, arms crossed and eyebrow raised, was the picture of smug satisfaction, while Nico and Grover couldn’t hold back their grins.

"Well, well, well," Nico started, taking a few steps closer. "Look what we have here. The lovebirds finally made it official."

Percy groaned, releasing Annabeth’s hand to rub his face. "You guys were spying on us?"

"Spying?" Thalia said with mock offense. "No, we were just… observing. You two weren’t exactly subtle."

Annabeth rolled her eyes, but her blush hadn’t faded. "Can’t you give us a break?"

Grover let out a snicker. "A break? Oh, you’re gonna get more than that."

Nico, unable to resist, wiggled his eyebrows.

"So, Percy, what’s it like getting down on one knee for Annabeth Chase? Didn’t think you were the proposal type."

Percy’s face flushed. "It wasn’t a proposal! I just, — it just slipped out."

"Right, sure," Nico teased. "Next thing we know, you'll be planning the wedding."

"And the honeymoon," Grover added, barely able to keep a straight face.

Percy groaned louder, casting a helpless look at Annabeth, who, despite trying to remain composed, couldn’t help but smirk at their antics. "I am not planning a honeymoon!"

"Yet," Nico shot back with a cheeky grin.

Annabeth, trying to suppress a laugh, gave Nico a mock-glare. "Keep it up, and I’ll make sure Percy dunks you in the lake."

"Oh, please, like that’ll stop me." Nico crossed his arms. "Besides, it’s not my fault you two are making it so easy. I mean, come on—holding hands, kissing in the moonlight. It’s practically a rom-com."

Grover nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, if this were a movie, we’d be at the part where the romantic music swells, and the credits roll." He then grinned mischievously. "Or... you know, the part where things get—"

"Grover!" Annabeth interrupted, cutting him off with a sharp look. But even she couldn’t suppress the laughter bubbling up.

Thalia, watching the whole scene with amusement, finally spoke up, her eyebrow still raised.

"You two have always had something going on, haven’t you?" She tilted her head slightly, giving them both a knowing look. "Glad you finally made it official."

Percy scratched the back of his neck, feeling both embarrassed and relieved. "Yeah, well… it just kinda happened."

"Uh-huh," Thalia said, her voice full of sarcastic disbelief. "Totally spontaneous. Just like that kiss we all saw."

Annabeth sighed, but a small smile tugged at her lips. "Are you guys going to tease us all night?"

"Yep!" Nico said without hesitation.

"You bet!" Grover added, already laughing again.

"Pretty much," Thalia shrugged, though she shot them a supportive smile underneath all the teasing. "But don’t worry. We’ll stop—eventually."

Percy and Annabeth exchanged a glance, both of them shaking their heads but unable to suppress their grins. As much as their friends’ teasing drove them crazy, it also reminded them of how much everyone cared. And deep down, they wouldn’t have it any other way.

"Alright, alright," Percy sighed, throwing up his hands in mock surrender. "We get it. You guys are never letting this go."

"Exactly," Nico smirked, "But, hey, if you guys are planning another romantic night, just give us a heads-up so we can prepare our next round of jokes."

Annabeth groaned playfully, grabbing Percy’s hand again and tugging him away from the group.

"Come on, Seaweed Brain, let’s get out of here before they start planning the fake wedding invitations."

As they walked off, Nico, Grover, and Thalia couldn’t help but chuckle behind them, but their smiles were full of genuine happiness for their friends.

Even if the teasing never ended, they were thrilled to see Percy and Annabeth finally together.
