By me

It was a quiet afternoon at Camp Half-Blood, the perfect kind of day for some well-deserved relaxation after a hectic week of quests and training.

Percy, Jason, and Annabeth sat on the grass near the Poseidon cabin, enjoying a moment of peace. Well, one of them was. Annabeth was focused on reading her book, while the boys were having their usual chat.

Percy leaned back with a satisfied grin, stretching out his arms.

“Bro, I got an A+ for a test!” Percy announced proudly.

Jason glanced up, raising an eyebrow in surprise. “Congrats! Which test?”

Percy’s grin widened as he replied, “Blood group test, bro.”

For a moment, Jason stared at him, blinking. Then, it hit him, and he couldn’t stop the laughter that erupted from his mouth. He doubled over, clutching his stomach, as if it was the funniest thing he had ever heard.

Percy, of course, joined in, laughing just as hard, clearly pleased with himself for delivering such an epic punchline.

Annabeth, however, sat still, her book now resting in her lap as she pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation. She had been with these two goofballs long enough to know their brand of humor, and this, sadly, was no exception.

“Really?” Annabeth muttered, glancing at Percy with her usual mix of affection and frustration. “That’s what you’re proud of?”

But the boys were far too busy wheezing with laughter to hear her. Jason was slapping the grass, tears streaming down his face, while Percy looked like he was about to collapse from his own hilarity.

Annabeth shook her head, though the corners of her mouth twitched upward just a little. “Gods, why do I put up with you two?”

Percy finally managed to catch his breath, wiping a tear from his eye. “Because you love us,” he said, grinning cheekily.

Annabeth rolled her eyes. “Yeah, sure. Just keep telling yourself that, Seaweed Brain.”

Jason sat up, still chuckling. “I mean, he’s not wrong, Annabeth.”

“Don’t encourage him, Grace,” Annabeth retorted, though the fondness in her voice betrayed her stern words.

Percy leaned over, nudging her gently. “Come on, Wise Girl, you know that was a good one.”

Annabeth sighed, feigning more annoyance than she actually felt. “Whatever helps you sleep at night, Percy.”

The boys grinned, their laughter finally subsiding, and the three of them settled back into the quiet of the afternoon—
Percy still looking a little too pleased with himself, Jason chuckling occasionally, and Annabeth pretending to be absorbed in her book, though her smile said otherwise.

Somehow, no matter how ridiculous they could be, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
