By me.

After the chaotic yet fun-filled vacation with Percy’s family, the gang was ready for round two, this time with Annabeth’s side of the family.

The excitement was high as they prepared for a week at the beach resort. Percy, Annabeth, Frederick, Helen, Bobby, Matthew, and Athena were all set to make new memories.

“Okay, everyone, let’s make sure we have everything!” Annabeth called out, her clipboard firmly in hand. “Sunscreen? Check! Snacks? Check! Emergency First Aid kit?” She glanced at Percy, who was trying to sneak a giant bag of chips into the car.

“First Aid kit? Psh, we’ve got Percy! We’re covered!” Bobby chimed in, grinning widely.

“Hey! I’m more than just a walking hospital!” Percy protested, but the laughter from the kids drowned him out.

Once they were all packed into the car, the adventure began. Frederick was driving, Helen was handling the snacks, and Annabeth and Percy were in charge of entertainment.

“So, what should we play?” Annabeth asked, looking back at her brothers.

“Can we play ‘Guess the Monster’ again?” Matthew asked, eyes sparkling with excitement.

“Sure, but this time, let’s make it interesting. Whoever loses has to sing a song at the beach!” Annabeth suggested, smirking at Percy.

“Hey, no one wants to hear me sing!” Percy exclaimed, but deep down, he loved the idea.

Bobby shouted, “I’ll go first! A giant squid that makes spaghetti!”

“Nice try, but that sounds more like dinner than a monster,” Annabeth replied, stifling a laugh.

As they traveled, the car was filled with laughter, bickering over who got the last bag of chips, and the occasional reminder from Frederick to keep it down or they’d end up in a ditch.

Finally, they arrived at the beach resort, and the sight of the ocean made everyone rush out of the car. “Beach! Sand! Water!” Bobby yelled, sprinting ahead.

“Wait for us!” Helen called, trying to keep up with her energetic children, while Frederick chuckled at their enthusiasm.

Annabeth and Percy were right behind, hand in hand. “Let’s set up our base camp first,” Annabeth suggested, her practical side kicking in.

As they set up their beach umbrella and towels, Percy noticed a beach volleyball net nearby. “Hey, let’s play some beach volleyball later! I’m totally going to dominate!”

“Only if you can serve without accidentally hitting someone in the head,” Annabeth teased, recalling a previous incident where Percy had sent a volleyball flying into an unsuspecting sunbather.

After a chaotic hour of setting up, they settled down for lunch. Frederick took charge of grilling hot dogs, but somehow, it turned into a mini-disaster. “I’ve got this! Just a little heat and—” He accidentally dropped a hot dog onto the sand.

“Oh no!” Bobby gasped, wide-eyed. “Not the hot dog!”

Percy couldn’t help but laugh as they watched Frederick dramatically retrieve it, brushing off the sand as if it were a precious artifact. “It’s fine! It adds flavor!” he said, trying to convince everyone.

After lunch, it was time for the family talent show, which Annabeth had insisted on since it had been such a hit last time. “I’ll go first!” Matthew declared, pulling out a rubber chicken from his beach bag. “Behold! The amazing rubber chicken act!”

“Is it a monster?” Bobby asked, giggling.

“Of course! It’s a rare breed!” Matthew exclaimed, waving it around.

Next up was Bobby, who decided to showcase his “sandcastle-building skills.” He quickly dug a hole in the sand and declared it a “secret lair” for sea monsters. “It’s the best lair ever!” he shouted proudly.

Percy and Annabeth took the stage next. “We’re going to do a beach dance!” Annabeth announced, and they started doing an exaggerated version of the Macarena, which included a lot of flailing arms and laughter.

After their performance, Percy turned to the crowd and declared, “And now, for my next trick, I will attempt to do a perfect belly flop into the ocean!” He ran toward the waves, only to trip and land face-first in the sand instead.

The laughter was contagious, and even Athena couldn’t help but smile, shaking her head at Percy’s antics. “Some things never change,” she murmured to Frederick.

The afternoon was filled with more games, and eventually, they decided to hit the water. Percy, ever the water expert, decided to teach Bobby and Matthew how to swim. “Okay, first rule: don’t panic when you see a wave coming at you!” Percy said, demonstrating a dramatic wave dodge.

“Got it!” Bobby shouted, but when a wave actually came, he screamed and ducked underwater, only to pop back up, spluttering. “I thought you said not to panic!”

“Yeah, well, I didn’t say it would be easy!” Percy laughed, patting him on the back.

As the sun began to set, they all gathered for a bonfire, roasting marshmallows and making s’mores. “This is the best vacation ever!” Bobby said, with a mouthful of chocolate and marshmallow.

“Agreed! Even with all the craziness,” Annabeth said, smiling at Percy, who was attempting to juggle marshmallows.

Frederick stood up, raising his marshmallow stick like a microphone. “Let’s end this night with a song! Who’s with me?”

“Not it!” Annabeth and Percy shouted in unison, while Bobby and Matthew erupted in giggles.

“Alright, I’ll sing solo,” Frederick declared, launching into a slightly off-key rendition of a classic beach song.

As they all laughed and joined in, Percy leaned over to Annabeth and whispered, “I think this vacation is going to be even crazier than the last one.”

“Just wait until tomorrow,” Annabeth replied mischievously. “I have a few surprises planned.”

And with that, they enjoyed the warmth of the fire, the laughter of family, and the promise of more adventures to come, ready to embrace whatever hilarity awaited them next.
