By me.

Percy Jackson was hosting a gaming night at his apartment, which meant one thing: chaos. His room was a mess of half-eaten pizza boxes, empty soda cans, and a bunch of guys arguing over who was the best at video games.

Percy didn't mind. He was used to it by now.

Annabeth, on the other hand, had recently moved in with him, and while Percy loved having her close, he knew better than to drag her into the noisy game nights. She had retreated downstairs to her room, where it was quieter, probably reading or doing homework.

As Percy and his friends made their way up the hall to his room, they passed Annabeth's. The door was wide open.

"Whoa, who's that?!" Matt, one of Percy's best friends, asked, his voice suddenly full of surprise.

Percy glanced over and smiled. Annabeth was lying on the bed, tangled in the sheets, her blonde hair hanging over the side in messy waves. She looked relaxed, peaceful, and—of course—absolutely gorgeous.

"Oh, that's my girlfriend," Percy said casually, as if this was an everyday thing.

Matt whistled, his voice still laced with admiration. "Wow, she's hot!"

Percy rolled his eyes, but a grin tugged at his lips. "I know, man."

Before anyone could say anything else, there was a flash of silver, and a knife embedded itself into the doorframe just an inch away from Percy's head. Everyone froze.

Annabeth's voice followed a second later, dripping with annoyance. "Oh, shut up, Seaweed Brain."

Percy winced. "Hey, come on, Wise Girl, I can't show you off to my friends?"

There was a beat of silence before Annabeth's head appeared in the doorway, eyes narrowed. "Not if you're going to be a jerk about it."

"Okay, okay," Percy said, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "I'll just go back to letting you rule my life with your infinite wisdom."

Annabeth gave him a long, pointed stare before rolling her eyes. "If you'd stop acting like a 5-year-old, maybe I wouldn't have to."

Percy leaned against the doorway, trying to act casual. "I mean, you really have to let me show you off. They need to know I'm dating a goddess."

Annabeth arched an eyebrow. "You think they don't know that?"

"Well, Matt didn't seem to get the memo." Percy grinned, nudging her gently.

Annabeth sighed, clearly softening. "Fine, you win. But only because you're cute when you try to be charming."

"I knew it," Percy said, his grin growing wider. "I'm basically irresistible."

Annabeth rolled her eyes but leaned in for a quick kiss on his cheek. "You're lucky I'm in love with you, Seaweed Brain. Now get back to your friends before they think I've turned you into a complete dork."

Percy beamed, stepping back. "I'll see you in a minute, Wise Girl."

As he left the room, he glanced over his shoulder and called out to his friends, who were waiting with expectant looks. "Okay, okay. That's my girlfriend, Annabeth Chase. Now let's get back to the game before she throws more knives."
