By SomethingMoreCreative. To the author of this fanfiction: I made a few subtle changes. Let me know if they're ok. To my readers : I planned on making this a book of my oneshots. But this one is so amazing, I couldn't help adding it. Hats off to author.

Percy knew it was only a matter of time before someone noticed, but he definitely didn’t expect Hazel to be the first to bring it up.
“Percy, what’s on your neck?” she asked, breaking the usual silence that hung over the dinner table.
Across the table, Leo burst out laughing, and Jason and Piper were unsuccessfully trying to stifle their own snickers. How was he supposed to explain this to Hazel, of all people? She was the youngest and, not to mention, the most innocent! She was from the 1940s, for gods' sake. How could he possibly tell her that Annabeth had been sucking on his neck?! She probably didn’t even know what a hickey was.
Annabeth, beside him, was shaking with laughter, her face buried in her hands. Percy shot her a look, silently begging for help, but all he got in return was more stifled giggles. Across the table, the rest of the demigods were in various states of hysterics.
Percy smirked, deciding if he was going down, he’d drag Annabeth with him. “I don’t know, ask Annabeth. I woke up from a nap and they were just there.” He shrugged casually.
Jason, who had been mid-sip of water, spewed it across the table as he broke into uncontrollable laughter. Frank had his head down on the table, shoulders shaking from trying to contain himself.
Percy had been expecting the slap, so it didn’t hurt as much as it could have. “That’s not entirely true, is it, Seaweed Brain?” Annabeth said, trying and failing to sound casual. “I seem to remember someone telling me not to stop...”
Percy turned a deep shade of red as everyone howled with laughter. So much for dragging her down with him—she’d just pushed him right under the bus.
Hazel still looked bewildered and reached out to touch Frank’s arm. “I don’t get it. Why is everyone laughing?”
Percy watched as Frank leaned closer to Hazel, hesitated for just a moment, and then gently pressed his lips to the side of her neck. Hazel jumped, her eyes wide with surprise. Frank pulled back, grinning shyly.
“That,” he said simply, “is what those bruises on Percy’s neck are from.”
Percy blushed harder, if that was even possible, but he was grateful that Frank had at least explained it that way. Hazel blinked, clearly still trying to process everything.
“From kissing?” she asked, incredulous, sending Percy into another round of blushing. Across the table, Jason and Leo were laughing so hard they were red in the face. Piper wiped away tears of laughter, and Annabeth’s head had fallen onto Percy’s shoulder, her body shaking with giggles.
“They’re called hickeys, Hazel,” Piper said, trying to keep a straight face but failing miserably.
“Don’t they hurt?” Hazel asked, her brows furrowed.
Before Percy could answer, Leo piped up. “I dunno, but Percy sure looks like he’s enjoying them!”
The boys burst into another round of laughter, and Percy tried his hardest to glare at them through his embarrassment. Hazel, on the other hand, was still looking at him expectantly, clearly waiting for an answer.
“Uh, well… um…” Percy stuttered, his mind scrambling for words.
“Very articulate, Seaweed Brain,” Annabeth teased, her laughter still lingering in her voice. Percy rolled his eyes, hiding a smile. He was still a little annoyed, though.
“Well, I blame you,” Percy muttered, turning to Annabeth. “You knew someone would see them, but you still left them there. Admit it, you did it on purpose just to embarrass me.”
She shrugged, a slight blush dusting her cheeks. “Maybe. Or maybe I just couldn’t help myself.”
“Dude!” Leo shouted. “Pick the second one! The second one!”
Percy’s blush finally started to fade, and he found himself laughing along with everyone else. It felt good to relax and hang out with his friends—his second family. He could get used to moments like this.
“No, Hazel,” Percy said after a while, once the laughter had died down. “They don’t hurt.”
Hazel scrunched up her nose, reminding Percy of the little sister he never had. “They look like they hurt.”
Before Percy could respond, Annabeth reached over and lightly brushed her fingers against the marks on his neck. “Hazel, don’t worry. Percy likes them. He might pretend to hate them, but trust me, half the time—”
“Stop!” Percy squeaked, quickly covering her mouth with his hand.
“Come on, Annabeth!” Leo egged on, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “Finish that sentence! I need some new blackmail!”
Percy shot Leo a glare as the others dissolved into even more laughter. Jason was red in the face from laughing, Piper was practically slumped in her chair, and Frank and Hazel were leaning against each other, snickering.
Percy tried to look annoyed, but honestly, he was so happy to be here with his friends that he couldn’t stop the grin threatening to break out. Things just felt... perfect. He wished he could stay in this moment forever.
“Shut up, Leo,” Percy groaned, rolling his eyes. “And someone please change the subject. I’m tired of talking about my love life when all you guys can do is laugh.”
The only thing that acknowledged him was another round of laughter.
