By me.

The day had finally arrived—Percy and Annabeth were getting married. The venue was breathtaking, filled with white flowers and shimmering lights that danced across the walls.

Friends and family had gathered, their hearts filled with love and excitement for the couple.

In her dressing room, Annabeth stood before the mirror, adjusting her veil. She looked stunning in her elegant gown, but her heart felt heavy as thoughts of her father drifted through her mind.

Their relationship had always been complicated, and with the wedding day upon her, those feelings were amplified.

“Hey, Annabeth! You look incredible!” Nico exclaimed as he stepped into the room, his presence instantly lifting the mood.

He was dressed sharply, embodying the supportive best friend he had always been.

“Thanks, Nico,” Annabeth replied, managing a smile despite her inner turmoil. “I’m just… nervous.”

Nico moved closer, his expression serious but warm. “You’re going to be amazing. Percy is lucky to have you, and I know you’ll be happy together.”

“Yeah, I just wish my dad could see it,” she admitted, her voice tinged with sadness. “We’ve had our differences, and I don’t think he really understands me.”

Nico nodded, understanding the weight of her words. “You deserve to have someone walk you down that aisle who truly supports you. If your dad can’t do that, then it’s not right for him to have that privilege.”

The moments passed, and soon the wedding guests began to settle into their seats. Annabeth and Nico shared a knowing look, both feeling the gravity of the day ahead.

As the ceremony began, the atmosphere was charged with emotion. Percy stood at the altar, a mixture of excitement and nerves coursing through him. He scanned the crowd, his eyes landing on Annabeth, who was radiant and glowing.

However, the moment the priest announced that Annabeth would need to be escorted down the aisle by her father, an awkward silence swept over the room. Annabeth’s stomach twisted, and she looked down, dreading the moment.

Just then, before Mr. Chase even had the chance to move, Nico leaped up from his seat, a determined expression on his face. “I’ll walk her down,” he declared, his voice firm and unwavering.

The gasps of surprise filled the room, and Annabeth looked at Nico, her eyes wide with gratitude. He stepped toward her, extending his arm with a reassuring smile.

“I’ve got you,” he whispered, and Annabeth felt a rush of relief wash over her.

Percy, Thalia, and their friends couldn’t help but smirk devilishly at the stunned expression on Mr. Chase’s face. The reality of the situation dawned on him as he realized that his daughter was not going to be the obedient bride he had expected.

With a mix of shock and fury, Mr. Chase watched as Nico escorted Annabeth down the aisle. The guests erupted into whispers, some smiling knowingly while others exchanged glances at the unfolding drama.

Percy felt a sense of pride swell within him, witnessing Nico’s unwavering loyalty to Annabeth. As they approached the altar, he caught Thalia’s eye, and they shared a mischievous grin, fully aware of the statement being made.

As they reached the front, Annabeth turned to Nico, gratitude shining in her eyes. “Thank you,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Nico smiled back, his expression softening. “Always. You deserve to be happy today.”

Percy stepped forward to take Annabeth’s hand, a reassuring presence beside her as the ceremony commenced. The tension in the air slowly melted away as the couple exchanged vows, their love evident to everyone in attendance.

“Do you, Percy, take Annabeth to be your lawfully wedded wife?” the priest asked, and Percy’s voice was steady and confident as he replied, “I do.”

“And do you, Annabeth, take Percy to be your lawfully wedded husband?”

Annabeth’s heart raced as she met Percy’s gaze. “I do.”

With that, they exchanged rings, sealing their promises to one another. As they shared their first kiss as a married couple, applause erupted throughout the chapel, and the air was filled with joyous laughter.

Later, during the reception, as the couple danced their first dance, Annabeth caught Nico’s eye from across the floor, and they exchanged a knowing smile.

She felt a deep appreciation for him, for stepping in when she needed support the most.

“Couldn’t let you walk with your dad when you’ve got someone like me around,” Nico joked, winking at her.

Annabeth laughed, the joy of the day washing over her. “You’re the best, Nico. I really appreciate it.”

“Always here for you, Wise Girl,” he said with a nod.

As the night wore on, surrounded by love, laughter, and the company of their closest friends, Percy and Annabeth knew that this day was only the beginning of a beautiful journey together.

They had each other, their supportive friends, and a future filled with love ahead.

And as they embraced this new chapter, they felt confident that, no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together—side by side, just as they always had.
