By me.

Percy had that mischievous grin on his face as he watched Annabeth. They were taking a walk through Central Park, discussing their plans for the upcoming weekend, when he dropped his little wordplay bomb.

"Change is inedible," he said, shaking his head dramatically.

Annabeth paused mid-step, narrowing her eyes at him. "Don’t you mean inevitable?"

Percy leaned over, smirking as he made a show of spitting out a handful of coins he had been carrying in his pocket. He let them fall into the palm of his hand with a loud clink.

"No," he said, winking, "I did not."

Annabeth’s mouth dropped open as she put it together, and then she groaned, facepalming. "Percy! You did not just… Oh gods, are you seriously… did you practice that?"

He shrugged, stuffing the coins back into his pocket as if this whole thing had just naturally happened, like an everyday event. "What can I say? I’m money-minded," he said with a laugh, clearly pleased with his terrible joke.

She rolled her eyes, trying to suppress the smile tugging at her lips. "One of these days, Seaweed Brain, you're going to make a pun so bad, it actually ends the world."

Percy looked up thoughtfully, as if considering it. "That sounds like an inevitable consequence."
