The Queen of Broken Hearts

Grace's Saviour

Grace's eyes opened and then closed quickly because the light was stinging her eyes, she takes a few seconds to adjust to the light before opening her eyes properly and she felt the pain in her side and cried out slightly at the sharp pain in her side, she looked around and realised she was in hospital but how did she get there? She didn't know... she tried to remember and she realised that she had been shot by hook saving Belle and she had fell across the town line but if that was true... why did she remember? Others that had crossed had forgotten so how had she been allowed to keep her memories? She should have lost them as soon as she crossed the town line yet... here she was able to remember everything... why? She didn't get to think about it for much longer because the pain in her side got worse and she had to grab onto her side but it didn't help, and she saw a red button beside her bed and pressed it which made a noise ring out from her room and the pain continued getting worse and she started crying. 

She wanted her papa, she wanted her mama, she wanted her mama to take her pain away, or even her grandpappy, she just needed the pain to go away, Dr. Whale rushed into the room along with some nurses "Grace? Do you know what happened?" He asks her carefully as the nurses give her some painkillers into an IV that was already set up in her arm and Grace nods her head "I want my mama... I want my papa... I want my parents." The little girl cried in pain and the doctor and nurses did look down at her sympathetically "we have someone calling your father right now Grace... everything will be okay." Whale says and Grace nods her head "thank you Victor." She says and he freezes forgetting that she knew him from the time he spent with her father "the medication will kick in soon Grace so just try to relax, don't do anything that will pull your stitches." He warns her and smiled at her as he leaves the room with the nurses and Grace can see the shadow of someone hanging around outside the room. 

"I know your out there... I can see your shadow, you might as well come in." She calls out and a man she had never seen before pops his head around the door and she tilts her head to the side in confusion "who are you?" She asks and the man just smiles at her but for some reason it doesn't make her feel any more reassured, it makes her feel quite uneasy, maybe even slightly fearful "hello there, my name is Thomas... I had heard about what happened to you and I wanted to see if you were all right? I was in a car accident myself entering your town." He says and Grace makes a quick mental note that he's not from Storybrooke "oh well thank you for your concern but I'm fine, my side is a bit sore but other than that I'm alright, I'm sorry to hear you got in a car accident." Grace says trying to be polite but she got a bad feeling from this man...

He walked closer to her bed and she didn't like it "well thank you Grace, that's a very nice thing to say but I can't help but wonder... where are your parents?" He asks still smiling "my papa's on his way, but how do you know my name..." Grace says trying not to let the inner panic she was feeling show too much "why I heard the doctor say it... but what about your mother? Where is she ?" He asks and Grace notices how his smile slips a little bit and she doesn't like it "I don't know, probably with my papa, why?" She asks and he turns serious "I just want to know where you mother is Grace, that's hardly against the law is it?" He asks and Grace is really scared now, she holds onto her blanket a bit tighter whilst trying to think of a way to make the man leave "I think I'm going to get some sleep now so do you mind leaving?" She asks politely but that seems to make the man angry. 

"but Grace... we're having such a nice conversation..." he says and she can feel tears building in her eyes, she is extremely scared of this man but she can barely move because of the pain in her side "please, will you leave I really wanna sleep, please leave me alone." She asks again and the man's attitude changes completely and it terrifies Grace "now you listen to me..." he gets cut off by another voice by the door "I believe the little lass asked you politely to leave, mate." Grace can see Killian standing by the door also in a hospital robe and even though he shot her she had never been more grateful to see him than right now "we were just having a discussion." Thomas tries to play it down and Killian's glare on the man darkens.
