"Got you!" Flint loudly squealed when I plucked him off the ground, making my ears hurt slightly as I faked nipped at his neck. Making him squeal even more with laughter, trying to get away from me.

"No, Luna! Don't eat me!" He laughed, grabbing my arms and trying to make me let go of him. "But you're so delicious!" I remarked jokingly, faking nipping at Flint's neck again while making loud fake eatting noises. He shriek at that.

Hearing laughter, I stopped and took a deep breath. Pulling away from Flint and looking up to see Azrael coming over to the two us, laughing as she held a child in both arms like a sack of potatoes. A younger one resting on her shoulders, their tiny arms wrapped around her forehead to keep them steady, and two more kids clinging to Azrael's legs, not letting go even when she walked through the snow.

"That was very fun to watch, my dear." Azrael spoke amused, a warmness in her gaze as she stared at me, not looking away for even a second. Then, she stopped a couple feet in front of me.

"Seems like you got your hands full." I laughed, shifting Flint around so he could wrap his arms around my neck and cling closer to me. Looking over at Azrael with a giant smile.

Azrael nodded, letting out a small sigh. "Yeah, you say that." Just then, a shewolf yelled which made all the pups turned their heads. "Lunch!"

Hearing that, the pups clings to Azrael immediately started to leave. The ones on her legs let go and quickly stood up, running over to the shewolf that was waiting with more pups at her side. Azrael set down the pups she was holding like sacks of potatoes before carefully reaching up and grabbing the younger one off her shoulders and set her down on the ground. She couldn't be more than three.

Watching as she waddle away, I turned to Flint and tried to set him down as well. Only for him to let out a loud whine and cling more closer to me. "No, Luna! I wanna stay with you."

My nervousness came back as I stood up with Flint still in my arms. "Flint, you have to go with the others. It's lunch time, you should go eat." I said, gently rubbing his back but Flint shook his head. "No!" Oh Goddess.

Hearing the sounds of snow crunching under boots, I turned to see the shewolf calling all the pups walking over to me. Stopping right beside me. Her gaze low as to not meet mine. "Come on, pup. It's lunch time and the Luna must go. She is a very busy wolf after all."

Flint whined, tightening his arms around me and pushing his head against my neck. "I don't wanna!" He whined. "I wanna stay with the Luna and Alpha."

The shewolf sighed, reaching over and wrestling for Flint till she finally managed to get him to let go of me. Making him loudly whine and reach for me as she pulled him away before bowing her head to me. "I'm sorry about that, Luna."

I laughed, waving a dismissive hand. "It's alright. I know how clinging pups are when they met a new friend." The shewolf didn't say anything as she turned to Asrael, deepening her bow a bit. "Alpha." Azrael gaze a small nod.

With that, the shewolf roes and walked away. A wriggling Flint in her arms while the rest followed behind her like ducklings.

I sighed, moving my hair out of my face. "Tired, my love?" I looked at Azrael who was watching me with a small smile. I nodded, my arm falling to my side. "Yeah, a little."

"Let us return back to the mountain, then. We'll eat then take a nap. There's a storm coming and I don't want you to be caught outside outside when it comes."

Taking my hands into hers, Azrael and I began to walk back to the mountain. Warriors and their families bowed their heads when we passed, mumbling goodbyes or have a good night. We did the same back before we entered the forest between the village and the mountain.

When we did, I felt my entire body relax. My shoulders dropping as I let out a small, relieved sigh. "Well, that was unexpected."

Azrael laughed, turning to look at me. "What, the pups, my love? You'll get used to them, they tend to bug everyone and make them play with them. Mostly the warriors and I after we finish training cause they knew we're doing nothing after most of the time." I hummed in agreement. "They really seem to like you."

"Yeah, pups tend to do that to Alphas most of the time. They know they can get away with most stuff so they like to mess around with me. It's really fun, plus, it's brightens the pack's mood."

Watching Azrael for a moment, I looked away. Remembering life in my old pack. "It wasn't like that in my old pack. The Alpha hated children. Whenever a child bumped into him or made a mess anywhere near him, he'll slap them." I felt Azrael's hand tense up.

"What? He slapped pups? The fuck was wrong with him?" Azrael yelled angrily, not stopping as we continued to walk. She breathed heavily, trying to keep herself calm. "I'm glad you killed that bastard." I wasn't the one who killed him, unfortunately.

Watching Azrael in the corner on my eye, seeing that she was still angry, body shaking, I quickly changed the subject. "The pups that were playing with us, who were they? They all had the same scent." Like that shewolf who took Flint.

When pups are young, their parents scent mark them so if they ever get lost, they can easily be bought back to them. "They're orphans. Their parents died so the twins, Emile and Gloria watch over them." That makes sense.

"So, they're just like me. Familyless." Azrael stopped, making me do the same. "No, you're wrong, my love." Humming confused, I looked up at Azrael. Seeing her staring at me. "The pack is your family."
