"How is it possible for a group of the enemy managed to get past our forces?" Azrael asked tiredly, rubbing her sleeping eyes after me and her woken up from the poison from the arrows.
She was pretty annoyed that we were attacked and nearly kidnapped. Luckily, the three werewolves that sneaked into our room were the only ones that managed to sneak on our lands. But it was still a close call.
Quietly humming to myself, I closed the door to the meeting room. Turning and looking down at the little pup in my arms, his bright blue eyes starting up at me as I smiled. "How are you feeling, Flint? Hungry?"
He shook his head. "No, Luna. I'm not hungry." I hummed again, rubbing his back. "Well, do you wanna do something?" He shook his head, bidding his face in my neck. Making me chuckle. "Sleepy, Luna."
"Then you can to back to sleep if you want." I relied, feeling Flint nod against me. "Okay...I do that now."
"Iris!" Peeking up, I turned, my smile growing wide at the sight of my best friend as she rushed down the hall. "Lily!"
Walking over to the blond shewolf, I unwrapped an arm around Flint to hug Lily who hugged me back. "It's nice to see you again, little sister."
"You too, Iris." She pulled away, looking up at me with worry. "I apologize for not seeing you sooner, but I was a little busy seeing as my mate is gonna be the gamma soon." My eyes widened. I've forgotten that Lily was Leo's mate.
"That's right. How is it, being mated to Leo I mean." Lily blushed, looking away from me. "He's very nice and takes care of me. It's fun to see him mess around with the others, especially his sister. He's really kind and friendly."
"I bet." I looked her up and down, seeing how nice and cleaned she looked. No bruise or cut in sight. "You look good, Lil. I like not seeing you injured, plus, you finally got some meat on your bones."
"Oh hush." Lily giggled, gently hitting my arm, making me laugh. Ignoring the disrespect.
"Anyways, who's this little pup?" Lily asked, turning her attention to Flint asleep in my arms. Head on my chest. I smiled, fixing my hold on the pup. "This is Flint, he's one of the orphans. Little rascal sneaked his way inside and towards my room while Azrael and I were attacked. Luckily no harm fell upon him during the fight."
Lily sighed, her shoulders dropping. "That's good to hear." Suddenly, the door to the meeting room opened and I turned. Seeing Azrael and Leo step out. That was fast. When Leo saw Lily, his eyes lit up and he quickly took her away.
"Bye, Iris! See you later." Lily waved, I did the same, watching Leo leave with her. "See you, sis." Dropping my arm and wrapping it back around Flint, I heard Azrael's footsteps. My smile falling.
"They tried to take another one of my pup, Azrael." I spoke softly to her, glancing down at Flint still asleep in my arms. Soft snores leaving him. "This has to end now. This war is not going to take anymore from me." I don't think I can take it.
Hearing footsteps come my way, Azrael stopped right behind me and wrapped her arms around me. Humming in agreement. "I know and agree with you. That's why me and a group of highly skilled warriors are going to sneak our way to the Royal grounds and kill the false king. A secret mission."
"I'm coming with you." Azrael leaned down, rubbing her face against my hair. "If that is what you want, I won't stop you. I know you want to kill that shewolf." Tears formed in my eyes but I blinked them away.
The shewolf, my sister, Maya. The person who I thought was the only person who actually loved and cared about me during my time in the Golden River Pack. But in reality, she was using me and partnered up with King Aspen. Stabbed me in the stomach and killed my unborn pup. "When do we leave?"
"In one hour. We have to get some supplies before moving out. Unfortunately, the storm is still raging and will be for the next few days so it's going to be dangerous during the trip."
"Life is already dangerous." I replied, slipping out of Azrael's arms and walking back to our room. Closing the door behind me and setting Flint on the bed. When doing so, accidentally waking him.
"Luna?" Sitting up, he rubbed his tired eyes which were still droopy as he looked up at me. "Yes, pup?" I smiled, sitting down on the bed next to him and reached over, pushing some of his black hair out of his face. "W-where Alpha?" He asked, looking around the room.
"She's out doing something at the moment. She might see her in a little bit." Flint nodded his head, putting his hand down. "Doing what?"
"She's getting ready to attack the false king. We're leaving in an hour."
"Oh. You're going too?" I nodded. "Yeah, I'm leaving as well. But don't worry, we'll be back and bring victory to the pack. Okay? Then we don't have to leave as much."
Flint nodded, a giant smile growing on his face. "Okay, Luna. Tell me a story?"
"Yeah, I can do that. What kind of story do you wanna hear?" I asked, moving so I was laying in bed, Flint snuggling against my side as I pulled the fur blanket over us. "T-tell me how you met Alpha, please."
"Well, since you asked so nicely. It all started a few months ago..."
