Watching as the last person left the room, the door closing behind them, I let out a loud sigh and slumped forward, resting my forehead against the cracked table. "That was nerve racking." I mumbled, feeling myself ease up.

Hearing Azrael softly chuckle, I turned my head, the side of my face now pressing against the wooden table as I stared at my mate. A small pout on my lips. "What's so funny, Az?"

Azrael shook her head, her chuckling quieten down. "Oh nothing, my love. Nothing at all." Just by the tone of her voice did I knew that she was lying. My pout deepened.

"Az!" I whined, making Azrael turn and look down at me with a small grin. "Don't be mean to me!" Kicking her under the table, Azrael winced a little. "How am I being mean? I've done nothing wrong."

"You laughing at me." I frowned, sitting up and staring into Azrael's eyes. She stared back at me for a moment before her lips twitched into a gentle smile. "Am I, little mate?"

"Yes-" My eyes widened when Azrael suddenly leaned forward and kissed my lips. Pulling away, I was still shocked by what happened as Azrael grinned. "Still think I'm mean?"

Feeling my cheeks flush in embarrassment, I turned away, crossing my arms over my chest. "Yes, I do." Hearing a small hum, large arms wrapped around me and I was pulled back against Azrael's chest.

I refused to look at her while my cheeks darkened and Azrael bowed her head so her mouth was neck to my ear. "Then it looks like I have to make it up to you." I moved to look at her, seeing Azrael's smirk. "Wanna run around in the forest in our wolf forms? It's been a while since we did that." Smiling, I nodded my head. Making Azrael's smirk widened. "Let's get going then."

Unwrapping her arms around me, Azrael stood up and I did the same. Following her out of the meeting room and into the dark hall, turning back to watch her close the door behind us before she took my hand and guided me to one of the side door exits that was close by.

Stepping outside, I took in a deep breath. Loving the smell of the forest and hearing the small animals that were still up this late. Tilting my head back, I saw that today was gonna be a moonless night with all the clouds in the way.

Humming, I turned my head when Azrael stepped right beside me, watching as she ran her fingers through her hair. "How about we unclothe here and leave our stuff next to the door so we don't lose it."

"That sounds good to me." Stripping down to nothing but the bandages around my stomach, I shivered at how cold it was and quickly turned into my wolf form which took a couple minutes.

When I was standing on four paws, I shook my head. Turning to Azrael to already see her already down transforming and was patiently waiting for me. It's not fair that she's so fast.

Seeing that I was done, she walked up to me and rubbed her giant head against mine. Doing the same back to Azrael, I rubbed myself against her chin as I walked away. Hitting her face with my tail at the end. Grinning, I looked back after a few steps to see Azrael rubbing her face with a paw, face scrunched up.

Grumbling, she turned to me and bared her teeth, letting out a small growl that held no power or anger. Still grinning, I walked back up to her and nipped at her ear. Quickly dodging when Azrael tried to nip me back and sprinted into the forest. Hearing Azrael let out a loud bark before giving chase, instantly catching up.

Looking behind me at my mate and seeing her not far being, I turned back around, ignoring the small ache from my wound and sped up. Digging my paws into the dirt and making a swift turn.

Hearing a small yelp of surprise from Azrael from my unexpected turn, there was some noise before Azrael was back on my tail.

With Azrael being so large in her wolf form compared to mine, it was easy to dodge and get away from her. Using the trees to my advantage as well as any roots that were sticking out of the ground so Azrael could trip over since she didn't notice them all and either stumbled or went crashing into a tree or bush. She might have fell for that trip quite a few times.

But after a while of this cat and mice game, Azrael suddenly disappeared. Making me nervous and slow down to a stop and turn around, look to see where she went. Trying to see if I could spot her in this infinite darkness. My ears twitching at every little noise I heard. Every cricket, hoot from an owl, and the gentle breeze of the wind blowing the leaves and branches. Still, I couldn't hear her.

Suddenly, the fur on my back stood up and I snapped my head to the side. Eyes narrowing when not seeing anything, not even a shadow move out of place. I still beared my teeth and let out a small growl, my eyes darting everywhere now.

Sniffing the air as I took a step back, I didn't smell my mate. Her scent wasn't there at all and that made me ever more on edge.

Sending my fear and anxiety thought the bond just in case, my eyes widened when I took another step back only to bump into a furry someone.

Snarling, I snapped around and aimed for the throat, only for them to move out of the way and gently grabbed me by the scruff and pin me down.

Squirming underneath the person, growling, I looked to see who it was and relaxed when I saw that it was just Azrael. Grinning down at me as she continued to pin me down before letting out after a moment when I noticed that it was her.

Standing up, I turned to my mate and whined. Ears down with my tail tucked between my legs. That was not nice.

Azrael noticed my reaction and smirked, leaning over to lick my face. Making me whined again and move away from her only for Azrael to follow me and continue doing it.

By the end of it, I was covered in Azrael slobber and had to take a bath in a nearby stream with my mate accompany me. She's such a bully.
