You and Averman had been dating since middle school, and even after all these years, he had never been the type to be overly affectionate. Sure, he was always sweet and caring, but he wasn't exactly romantic. But lately, something had changed. Averman had been more touchy-feely, giving you a quick kiss on the forehead before practice, or holding your hand as you walked to the locker room. You weren't exactly sure what had caused this shift in him, but you were definitely enjoying it.

As you sat in the locker room, taking off your jerseys and gear after practice, you felt Averman's eyes on you. You turned to him, and he looked up at you, a small smile on his lips.

"I love you," you said, your voice barely above a whisper.

Averman took a deep breath, and you could see the emotions flitting across his face. "I love you too," he replied, his voice soft.

You both continued undressing in silence, but there was something different about the way you both moved. There was a tenderness to your actions, a gentleness to your touch that hadn't been there before.

As you slipped off your shoulder pads, Averman reached out, running his fingers along the bare skin of your shoulder. You shivered at his touch, feeling a wave of desire course through your body.

"Averman," you breathed, turning towards him.

He didn't say anything, but his eyes were dark with emotion. He reached out, pulling you into his arms and kissing you deeply. There was a hunger to his kiss, a longing that you had never felt from him before.

As you broke apart, gasping for breath, Averman looked at you with a mixture of surprise and passion. "I don't know what's come over me," he said, his voice hoarse. "But I can't stop thinking about you. About us. About our future together."

You smiled, feeling your heart fill with joy. "I feel the same way," you said, your voice filled with emotion.

Averman pulled you close, holding you tightly as you both stood in the locker room, surrounded by the scent of sweat and hockey gear. But in that moment, none of that mattered. All that mattered was the love that you both shared, the unexpected feeling that had brought you even closer together.

"I know we've been together for a long time," Averman said, his voice quiet. "But I don't think I ever realized how much you mean to me until now. I can't imagine my life without you."

You felt your eyes fill with tears, touched by his words. "I feel the same way," you said, your voice barely above a whisper.

Averman kissed you again, and this time it was slow and tender. There was a sweetness to his touch that you had never experienced before, and it made your heart skip a beat.

"I want to spend the rest of my life with you," he said when you broke apart. "I want to wake up every morning with you by my side. I want to grow old with you."

You felt your heart swell with love, and you knew that you wanted the same thing. "I want that too," you said, your voice filled with emotion.

Averman held you close, and you both stood there for a long time, lost in your thoughts and feelings. But as you both walked out of the locker room, hand in hand, you knew that your love for each other would only continue to grow stronger with each passing day. And as you looked up into Averman's eyes, filled with love and affection, you knew that you had found your forever.
