As I walked down the stairs in my red dress and heels, I could feel the eyes of my dad and Charlie on me. "Wow, Amber, you look stunning," Charlie said, as he took my hand and led me outside to take pictures.

My dad, Coach Bombay, joined us and we took pictures as a family. "I can't believe my little girl is all grown up," my dad said, as he hugged me tightly.

"I know, Coach," Charlie said, "but she's still the toughest hockey player I know."

I blushed at Charlie's words and leaned into him as he put his arm around my waist. "Thank you, Charlie. You look pretty handsome yourself," I said, as we took some more pictures.

After the photo session, Charlie and I got into his car and drove to prom. As we entered the venue, I saw the whole hockey team waiting for us, their eyes widened with surprise at seeing me in a dress.

"Amber, you look incredible," Connie said, as she hugged me.

"Thanks, Connie. I'm still getting used to wearing a dress," I said, laughing.

Charlie put his arm around my waist and whispered in my ear, "You don't have to wear a dress to look beautiful, Amber. You're always beautiful to me."

I felt my cheeks turn red as I looked up at Charlie and smiled. "Thank you, Charlie. You always know just what to say."

Amber looked up at Charlie, her heart racing as they swayed to the music. She felt like she was dancing on air, and she couldn't believe how lucky she was to have Charlie as her boyfriend.

"You look amazing," Charlie said, his eyes sparkling as he looked down at her. "I mean, you always look amazing, but tonight you look especially stunning."

Amber blushed, feeling her cheeks grow warm. "Thank you," she said softly, feeling shy and vulnerable. "I don't usually wear dresses or heels, so this is all new to me."

"Well, you should wear them more often," Charlie said, grinning. "You look absolutely gorgeous."

Amber laughed, feeling her nerves ease a little. She loved how Charlie always knew how to make her feel better, and how he never failed to put a smile on her face.

As they danced, Charlie pulled her closer, his hands resting on her lower back. Amber felt a shiver run down her spine, and she leaned in, resting her head on his chest.

"I love you, Amber," Charlie whispered, his voice low and husky. "I love you so much."

Amber felt her heart swell with emotion, and she looked up at him, feeling tears prickle at the corners of her eyes. "I love you too, Charlie," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

Charlie smiled down at her, his eyes sparkling with love and tenderness. "You don't have to worry about that," he said, leaning in to kiss her forehead. "I'm not going anywhere."

They danced in silence for a few moments, lost in their own thoughts and feelings. Amber felt like she was on top of the world, and she never wanted this moment to end.

"I know we're young," Charlie said suddenly, breaking the silence. "But I can't imagine my life without you. I want to be with you forever, Amber."

Amber felt her heart skip a beat, and she looked up at him, feeling tears welling up in her eyes. "Charlie," she said softly, "I feel the same way. I don't want to be without you either."

Charlie smiled down at her, his eyes shining with love. "Then let's make a promise," he said. "Let's promise to always be there for each other, no matter what. To love each other, to support each other, to be each other's best friend."

Amber felt her heart swell with emotion, and she looked up at him, feeling tears of happiness streaking down her face. "I promise," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I promise to always love you, Charlie. To be your best friend, your partner, your everything."

Charlie leaned in, his lips meeting hers in a tender, loving kiss. Amber felt like she was floating on a cloud, and she knew that this was just the beginning of their love story.
