After practice, Charlie and I stayed behind a little longer than usual. We showered together and changed into clean clothes, chatting about our day as we walked out of the locker room.

As we skated home, I couldn't help but bring up the topic of getting a puppy. Charlie and I had been talking about it for weeks, and I was eager to have a furry friend of my own.

Charlie smiled and took my hand, and we skated together in silence for a little while. Eventually, he spoke up. "I have a surprise for you," he said, his voice low and sweet.

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What kind of surprise?" I asked.

Charlie just smiled and closed my eyes with his hands. I trusted him, so I let him lead me down the street, skating carefully with my eyes shut. After a few minutes, he told me to stop and hold out my hands.

I felt something soft and furry in my palms. "Okay, you can open your eyes now," Charlie said.

I opened my eyes to see the most adorable Golden Retriever puppy I had ever seen. My eyes filled with tears as I hugged the puppy close to my chest, overwhelmed with happiness.

Charlie squatted down in front of me and wrapped his arms around my waist, holding me close. I cried happily into his shoulder, feeling grateful and loved.

He pecked my lips gently before saying, "I'm glad you like her. We can name her Goldie."

I smiled and wiped away my tears, snuggling the puppy close. "Thank you, Charlie. This is the best gift I've ever received."

We skated the rest of the way to Charlie's house, where he took me up to his room. I sat on his bed, still holding Goldie in my arms, and Charlie sat down next to me.

We talked about how we would take care of Goldie and what kind of things we would teach her. As we chatted, Charlie kept stealing glances at me, his eyes filled with a mix of love and admiration.

After a while, Charlie leaned in and whispered in my ear, "I love you."

I turned to face him, and we shared a sweet and tender kiss, our lips moving together in perfect harmony. Goldie barked happily, wagging her tail, as if she knew that something special was happening between us.

We spent the rest of the evening cuddled up on Charlie's bed, playing with Goldie and talking about our dreams and hopes for the future. It was a sweet and romantic moment, and I knew that I would always cherish it. From that day on, Goldie became a beloved member of our little family.
