As I lay in my hotel room, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had been gnawing at me since I arrived. I missed Luis, my best friend since childhood, who had flown me out to California to watch him play hockey. But, he was staying in a dorm room with his teammates, leaving me to fend for myself in the hotel. I knew I had to call him; I needed his comforting presence.

I dialed his number, and the phone rang a few times before a voice I didn't recognize answered. "Hello?" he said.

"Hey, is this Luis's roommate?" I asked.

"Yeah, what do you want?" he replied gruffly.

"I'm Luis's girlfriend. Let me talk to him," I demanded.

The boy shouted for Luis, and I heard him ask what was up. "It's Luis's girlfriend on the phone," the boy said.

"Hey Mi Amor," Luis said, his voice filled with love.

"Hey Luis," I said, relieved to hear his voice.

"Luis, can you come over, please? I don't feel comfortable in my hotel," I pleaded.

"Yeah, I'll be there soon, Hermosa," he said, hanging up the phone.

I paced back and forth in my room, waiting for Luis to arrive. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I heard a knock on the door. I looked through the peephole, seeing Luis standing there with a hoodie in his arms. I opened the door, and he embraced me, swaying us side to side. It felt like home.

"Hey, I brought you this," he said, handing me his hoodie.

I put it on, and we settled onto the bed, talking about anything and everything. We laughed, kissed, and cuddled until we fell asleep at around 1 in the morning.

But as the night wore on, our conversation took a more intimate turn. We talked about our hopes and dreams, our fears and insecurities. Luis opened up to me in a way he never had before, sharing his deepest thoughts and feelings. And as I listened to him speak, I felt my love for him grow even stronger.

Suddenly, he looked at me with a serious expression. "I need to tell you something," he said, taking my hand in his.

"What is it?" I asked, feeling a knot form in my stomach.

"I love you, Hermosa," he said, his eyes searching mine.

And in that moment, everything else faded away. All I could see was Luis, his kind eyes and gentle smile. I felt a warmth spread through me, filling me with a sense of joy and contentment.

"I love you too, Luis," I said, my heart overflowing with emotion.

We kissed then, a slow and tender kiss that spoke of all the love we shared. And as we lay there in each other's arms, I knew that nothing could ever come between us. We were meant to be together, forever.

The night passed in a blur of passion and romance. We talked and laughed, cuddled and kissed, sharing our deepest thoughts and feelings. And as the sun rose over the California horizon, we knew that our love would never fade away. For we were soulmates, two hearts beating as one.
