As Dwayne and I sat in my dorm room, the soft glow of the lamp casting shadows across our faces, I couldn't help but feel a little nervous. We had been dating for a while now, and while we had kissed and cuddled and spent countless nights together, we had never said those three little words.

"So, how was practice today?" I asked, trying to keep the conversation light.

Dwayne smiled, his eyes lighting up as he talked about the game. "It was great," he said. "We're really starting to come together as a team."

I nodded, listening intently as he talked about the plays they had run and the goals they had scored. As he spoke, I found myself getting lost in his voice, in the way he moved his hands as he talked, in the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled.

And then, suddenly, he stopped talking and turned to look at me. "What's on your mind?" he asked, his eyes searching mine.

I bit my lip nervously. "I just...I don't know," I said, feeling my cheeks heat up. "I guess I was just thinking about us."

Dwayne raised an eyebrow. "Us?" he repeated.

I nodded, my heart racing. "Yeah. I mean, we've been together for a while now, and I just...I don't want to assume anything, but I was wondering if you feel the same way I do?"

Dwayne's expression softened, and he reached out to take my hand. "Of course I do," he said, his voice soft and gentle. "I love you, more than anything."

My heart swelled with joy, and I couldn't help the tears that sprang to my eyes. "I love you too," I said, leaning in to kiss him.

As we kissed, I felt a weight lift from my shoulders. We had finally said those three little words, and it felt like a huge step forward in our relationship.

Over the next few days, we spent every moment we could together, stealing kisses in the hallway between classes and snuggling up together in our dorm room. We talked for hours, about everything and anything, and I found myself falling even more in love with him with each passing day.

As we walked to the rink for our next game, Dwayne took my hand in his, his fingers lacing through mine. "You know, I've been thinking," he said, his voice low and serious.

I looked up at him, my heart racing. "What is it?" I asked, my stomach fluttering with nerves.

"I was thinking that maybe, after the game tonight, we could go for a walk," he said, his eyes locked on mine. "Just the two of us, under the stars. And maybe, if you're feeling brave, we could go for a skate on the pond."

I felt a grin spread across my face. "I'd love that," I said, my heart swelling with joy.

And so, after the game was over, we bundled up in our warmest clothes and set off into the night. The stars twinkled overhead, and the snow crunched beneath our feet as we walked hand in hand through the woods.

And then, we came to a clearing, and I gasped in awe. The moon was full, casting a soft silver light over everything, and in the center of the clearing was a frozen pond. It was like something out of a fairytale.

Dwayne grinned at me, and before I knew it, he had pulled me onto the ice. We skated hand in hand, laughing and twirling and spinning, until our cheeks were pink with cold and our hearts were pounding with joy.

As we lay on the ice, our breaths coming in soft puffs of steam, Dwayne turned to me. "You know I love you, right?" he said, his voice soft and tender.

I smiled, my heart full to bursting. "I know," I said. "And I love you too."

And then, as the moon rose high in the sky and the stars glittered overhead, we kissed. It was soft and sweet and passionate, and in that moment, I knew that I was exactly where I belonged. In the arms of the man I loved, with nothing but the stars and the snow and the ice to bear witness to our love.
