It was a Thursday night, and the ice rink was quiet as Charlie and I finished up our practice. We had been playing hockey together since we were kids, and even though we were now juniors in high school, the sport still brought us together. As we took off our skates and got ready to leave, Charlie turned to me with a serious expression.

"Hey, can we talk for a second?" he said, his blue eyes searching mine.

"Sure," I replied, feeling a flutter of nerves in my stomach.

Charlie took a deep breath, then looked at me with a soft expression. "I know we've been dating for a long time, but I just wanted to say...I love you. Like, really love you. You're my best friend, my teammate, and my partner in everything. And I want to be with you for infinity, if you'll have me."

I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked at Charlie. This was the moment I had been waiting for - the moment when he would finally say those three little words I had been longing to hear. But even though I had been anticipating it, the rush of emotion was overwhelming. I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes as I took Charlie's hand.

"Charlie," I said, my voice shaking with feeling. "I love you too. So much. You're my soulmate, my other half, and I don't want to be with anyone else. Ever."

Charlie's face softened, and he squeezed my hand. "Really?"

"Really," I said, smiling through my tears.

We stood there for a moment, just looking into each other's eyes, feeling the weight of our love. Then Charlie leaned in and kissed me, his lips soft and tender against mine. It was a kiss that held all the years we had spent together, all the memories we had made, and all the promise of the future. As we pulled away, we both knew that our love would endure all the ups and downs of life, and that we would always be there for each other, no matter what.

"I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you," Charlie said, his voice full of emotion.

"Me too," I replied, feeling a warmth in my heart that would never fade. "I'll love you for infinity, Charlie Conway."

Charlie smiled, then took my hand and led me out of the rink. We walked through the parking lot, the only sound the crunch of our footsteps on the gravel. It was a peaceful moment, a moment of quiet reflection on all that we had been through and all that we still had to look forward to.

"Remember that time we snuck into the rink after hours and skated under the stars?" Charlie said, breaking the silence.

"Of course I do," I replied, smiling at the memory. "We were so little then."

"Seems like a lifetime ago," Charlie said, his tone wistful.

"But it's not," I said, stopping and turning to face him. "We're still us. We're still the same kids who love hockey and each other, no matter what."

Charlie looked at me, his eyes full of warmth. "You're right. And I don't ever want to change that."

"I don't either," I said, leaning in to kiss him again.

We stood there for a moment, lost in the kiss, lost in each other. The world around us faded away, and all that mattered was the love we shared. When we finally pulled away, we both knew that we had found something special, something that would last a lifetime.

"I love you," Charlie said again, his voice soft.

"I love you too," I replied, feeling my heart overflow with emotion. "And I'll love you for infinity."
