Summer sat on the couch, textbooks spread out in front of her, trying to focus on her studies. Les, her boyfriend, sat beside her, his arm casually draped around her shoulders. The TV was on, showing a hockey game, but Summer paid little attention to it.

"Take a break, Summer," Les said, his voice gentle but insistent.

"I can't, Les. I need to finish this chapter," Summer replied, her eyes fixed on the page.

Les's gaze softened as he looked at her, admiration shining in his eyes. He admired her dedication and focus, but he also wanted her to relax and enjoy their time together.

"Please, just a short break. You've been working so hard," Les urged, his hand gently rubbing her back.

Finally relenting, Summer closed her textbook and moved it aside. She shifted to sit on Les's lap, feeling his warmth and presence enveloping her. They swayed back and forth, lost in their own little world of love and affection.

Their moment was interrupted by the sound of the front door opening. Summer's father had returned home earlier than expected, and her younger brother's laughter filled the room as he caught sight of them.

"Summer, what's going on here?" her father's voice boomed across the room, his stern expression causing Summer to blush.

Her brother's eyes widened, and he burst into laughter, unable to contain his amusement at the scene before him.

Les remained composed, offering a polite smile to Summer's father. "Mr. Johnson, we were just studying together. I apologize if it seemed inappropriate."

After a brief conversation, her dad asked Les to leave, and Summer walked him to the porch. As they said their goodbyes, Les promised to see her later that night, their affectionate gestures speaking volumes.

Back in her room, Summer looked at a photo of her and Les ice skating together, a memory frozen in time. The love and laughter that filled the living room that day would be a cherished moment in their relationship, a reminder of the bond they shared.
