As we stepped into the locker room, the excitement of the upcoming game was palpable. The first game of the season was always special, and we were more than ready to hit the ice and show what we were made of.

I found Adam sitting on the bench, already lacing up his skates, and my heart skipped a beat at the sight of him. He looked up and caught my eye, and I could see the love and affection in his gaze.

"Hey, gorgeous," he said, grinning as I approached him. "Are you ready for this?"

I nodded, feeling a surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins. "I'm ready, but I need your help with my skates first."

Without hesitation, Adam knelt down and began to lace up my skates, his fingers working quickly and expertly. As he worked, I couldn't help but smile at the sight of him, so focused and determined.

"You know," I said softly, "I love you to the moon and back."

Adam looked up at me, his eyes shining with love. "I love you too, more than anything in this world."

My heart swelled with happiness at his words, and I leaned down to kiss him, my hands finding their way into his hair. It was a sweet, tender moment, full of love and passion.

As we pulled away, Adam smiled at me, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "You know, I'm so lucky to have you in my life. You make everything better, just by being here."

I felt my heart melt at his words, and I knew that I was just as lucky to have him by my side. "I feel the same way about you," I said softly. "You make everything brighter, just by being here."

And with that, we shared another sweet kiss, lost in each other's love and affection. It was a moment I would never forget, a moment that would stay with me through all the highs and lows of our hockey careers, through everything that life threw our way. Because when you love someone to the moon and back, nothing can ever tear you apart.
