I sat nervously at lunch with Ella, my eyes fixated on the boy across the room - Fulton Reed. He was dressed in his usual punk attire, donning a rainbow skull bandana and a graphic t-shirt paired with jeans. His long black hair cascaded down his shoulders, making him look even more attractive.

"Hey, whatcha looking at?" Ella asked, her eyes following mine to Fulton.

"Oh my god, you like Fulton!" she exclaimed, gushing over my crush.

"I'm so obsessed with your ex." I smiled, feeling my cheeks flush with embarrassment.

As if on cue, Fulton made eye contact with me and I felt my heart skip a beat.

"Go talk to him," Ella encouraged me.

Taking a deep breath, I got up from my seat and made my way over to Fulton and his hockey team.

"Hi..." I waved shyly, feeling nervous yet excited at the same time.

"Hey..." Fulton replied with a grin. "Um, I've been meaning to talk to you..."

My heart raced as I waited for him to continue.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me," he said, smiling.

I felt a surge of happiness and excitement rush through me as I nodded my head eagerly. His teammates looked at us in awe, and I caught a glimpse of my sister Connie and her boyfriend Guy holding hands and looking at us with admiration.

"K, bye!" I smiled at him, feeling over the moon as I walked away. Fulton smiled back at me, and I knew that this was only the beginning of something special.

FULTON'S POV:

As Kate walked away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. I had been wanting to ask her out for a while now, and I was glad that I finally had the courage to do it. As I turned back to my friends, I saw Connie and Luis grinning at me.

"She's in loveee!" Connie gushed, causing everyone to laugh.

"And looks like you are too," Luis teased, nudging my shoulder.

I rolled my eyes, not wanting to give them the satisfaction of knowing that they were right. "Am not. Maybe I like her, but also she is Ella's best friend."

"Fulton, her and Ella are over there gushing over you," Julie said with a small smile.

I felt myself blush at the thought of Kate talking about me with her friends. I had always been the tough guy, never letting anyone see my emotions. But something about Kate made me want to let my guard down.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I said, trying to play it cool.

But deep down, I knew that I was falling for her. And I couldn't wait to see where this would lead us.
