Mighty ducks imagine/ preference

Had me at hello (D. Robertson)

As you walk into the locker room before your game, you see Dwayne Robertson sitting on the bench, tying up his skates. You smile and wave at him, and he smiles back. You two have been friends for eight months, ever since you both joined the Ducks hockey team. You've always had a bit of a crush on him, but you never thought he felt the same way.

"Hey," he says, standing up and walking over to you. "You ready for the game?"

"Definitely," you reply, trying to keep your voice steady. "How about you?"

"I'm good," he says, his eyes meeting yours. "Actually, there's something I wanted to talk to you about."

Your heart races as he takes your hand and leads you to a quiet corner of the locker room.

"I know we've been friends for a while now," he says, his voice soft. "And I know I've been a bit of a chicken about this, but I just can't keep it to myself anymore. I really like you, Y/N. Like, a lot. And I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go out with me sometime."

Your heart swells with happiness as you look up at him. "Dwayne, I've liked you for so long," you say, your voice shaking. "Of course I'll go out with you."

He grins at you, his eyes sparkling. "You have no idea how happy that makes me," he says, pulling you into a tight embrace.

As you pull away, he takes your hand and leads you out onto the ice for the game. You feel like you're floating on air as you skate alongside him, your heart overflowing with joy.

After the game, he takes you out for dinner at a cozy little Italian restaurant. The conversation flows easily between you, and you feel like you could talk to him forever.

As the night wears on, he looks at you with a soft smile. "Y/N, I just have to say something," he says, taking your hand in his. "From the moment I met you, I knew there was something special about you. And every day since then, I've fallen more and more in love with you. You had me at hello, Y/N. I just had to find the courage to tell you."

Tears prick at your eyes as you look at him, feeling overwhelmed with love and happiness. "Dwayne, I love you too," you say, your voice barely above a whisper.

He leans in for a kiss, and as your lips meet, you feel like you're exactly where you're meant to be. Together, with the person you love more than anything in the world.
