Minda was unable to settle down for a long time. Kai felt a little bad about it and decided to save him from his own thoughts.
"Minda, I brought something back for you." Kai said.
"Did you catch some more rabbits?" Minda asked thinking Kai had remembered how much he liked rabbit stew and brought some back for dinner.
"Better."
Minda's interest was successfully caught and his previous anxiety about his first lesson was beginning to dissipate. He quietly shifted closer to Kai. Not planning to make him wait Kai reached into his robe. Minda blushed a little when he saw Kai's bare skin peek through his open collar. But the moment only lasted a second when just bellow his eyeline a tuff of silvery fur poked out.
"Since when does Kai have silver chest hair?" Minda wondered as he leaned in closer.
Pop*
Suddenly out popped an adorable little kitten. It's big blue eyes squinting as it yawned.
Badump*
"Cute!!!!!" Minda exclaimed.
He wanted to touch the adorable little kitten but held back knowing he might scare it. Kai could see from his fidgeting hands that Minda really wanted to touch it. He completely pulled the little leopard out of his robe and moved to place it on his lap.
"Wait, it can't sit there the stone is too hard and cold for it." Minda said. He then grabbed his stone and attempted to move it on to the table. Kai was surprised Minda was willing to move the stone for the leopard. He patiently waited for Minda before placing the sleepy leopard on his lap.
"Where did you find it?" Minda asked as he carefully touched its fluffy fur coat.
"It's a sad story, the mother was killed by a trap." Kai truthfully said.
"You killed its mother?"
"It was an accident. I never wanted to turn the little ones into orphans. That's why I brought them back with me." Kai said. Minda looked at the little animal on his lap with pity. Seeing his mood drop Kai brought out the second leopard.
"There's another!"
"Yes, two little brothers. Do you want to keep them?" Kai asked after successfully brightening Minda's mood again.
"Absolutely. Are they cats? Tigers?" Minda asked not quite sure what they could be.
"Snow leopards." Kai answered as he placed the second one on Minda's lap.
"I've never seen snow leopards before. They're so cute. Is it really okay for us to keep them?" Minda asked.
"They are known as being quiet and shy animals and don't attack people. If we raise them from babies like this I'm confident they'll grow up to be gentle and loving. Similar to cats." Kai said. He had never raised snow leopards before but he had raised other wild animals. As long as they were well cared for since young Kai was confident they would make great pets.
"How big will they get?" Minda asked.
"At full size they'll grow to be roughly the size of a large dog."
"So big? I've never had such a big pet before. How do we even take care of them? Are they similar to cats regular cats?" Minda asked.
"When they are older they'll eat meat. Right now they need milk. Luckily you have a few goats in the barn and have plenty of milk from them." Kai said.
"That's right. Mom was told milk can be good for the body so she always made sure we drank a little everyday. I used to feed my cat milk when he was little." Minda said suddenly remembering his beloved cat Oni as he stared down at the leopard cubs.
