Chapter 74: Hot Spring

After dinner Minda was barely awake as he leaned against Kai. His body wanted sleep but he wanted a bath. Kai grabbed one of the thick blankets and was planning to cover Minda with it so he could sleep but before he could Minda opened his eyes and pushed his hand away.

"Bath."

"Sleep first."

"No."

"MinMin, you can't even keep your eyes open. The hot spring can wait." Kai said.

"I feel dirty and... Cough... Cough the hot spring is supposed to have health benefits." Minda said with big eyes. Kai looked at him and couldn't refuse his request. With gentle hands Kai began to undress Minda.

"How did he lose so much weight after just three days?" Kai couldn't help but question as he looked at Minda's naked body. Minda had always been thin but with Kai's and Auntie Feifei's meticulous care he had finally gained a healthy amount of weight. Yet after just three days it was all gone.

"Is something wrong?" Minda asked when he noticed Kai looking at him. It wasn't his usual fervent or lecherous stare which worried Minda.

"I just love you." Kai said. He picked Minda up in his arms and quickly carried him outside to the hot spring area. Minda thought his answer was sincere but also a little odd.

"You're coming in with me, right?" Minda asked when he noticed Kai hadn't gotten undressed yet.

"I will."

Kai placed Minda down on a bench. He then undressed. Minda naturally found himself staring at Kai's naked body. He would normally react but he was too weak to because of the rain his his current fever. After undressing Kai grabbed the washbasin. The water meant for washing their bodies came from a well and was cold. Kai didn't like that idea and filled the basin with the much hotter hot spring water.

"This soap smells decent." Minda said as he opened the jar on the shelf next to him. He lifted it up for Kai to take sniff.

"It's not bad."

"Let's try it." Minda said as he placed it in Kai's hand.

Kai grabbed a soft cloth and started to slowly scrub Minda's body clean using the inn's specialty soap. As he did Kai found himself missing Minda's usual scent.

"Next time we're using our own soap." He thought.

After carefully and quickly washing Minda's body Kai placed him in the water. The water was hotter than the large bath Minda would use at the estate but it wasn't unbearably hot.

"It feels nice a bit like my medicinal herb baths. Hurry up and wash up so you can join me." Minda said.

Kai grabbed the cloth he used for Minda and quickly scrubbed the dry mud from his body. Once clean he joined Minda in the hot spring. The moment he did Kai felt all the tension in his body melt away.

"I think Bao was right. My knee and hand already feel a lot better." Minda commented with renewed energy.

"That's good." Kai said. Still concerned about Minda's condition Kai reached over and pulled Minda's legs across his lap and began to massage his knee. His firm yet gentle touch felt comfortable and Minda began to hum.

"Honey, do you have to go on night duty tonight?" Minda asked. Kai needed to do it almost every night but Minda hoped they could spend the entire night together.

"I'm all yours for the next two nights." Kai said. He then switched from Minda's knee to his hand. He couldn't focus on one for too long considering the limited time they could spend in the hot spring.
