Chapter 81: Training

"Honey, what are they doing?" Minda asked when he noticed a bunch of naked men in the river. Kai moved between Minda and the river effectively blocking his view before answering him.

"Bathing."

"I see, I've never taken a bath in a river before. Honey..."

Kai had a feeling he wouldn't like Minda's next question. Anticipating what he might ask Kai cut Minda off.

"I've already talked to Gen and he has agreed to let us use the largest pot after dinner to boil some water to wash up. The hot water will feel good."

"Even with a pot of hot water it's still just wiping with a cloth." Minda said with disdain. His curiosity in the river growing stronger.

"It's better than the cold river water."

"Even though it's cold everyone looks like they're having fun."

"Don't be fooled. They are moving like that to stay warm."

"It's not that cold, is it?"

"It's definitely cold."

"I would still like to try."

"No." Kai said determined not to let Minda undress and expose himself in the river.

"Honey, I know you are concerned about my weak constitution but I think bathing in the river would be a great experience. Even if it is cold we'll be able to thoroughly wash up. After today we definitely need it ." Minda pleaded.

Kai could see how much he wanted it in his big innocent eyes. If it was at the estate, Kai would have agreed. They had a private waterfall surrounding by trees. Unfortunately, here at the campsite by the river everyone would be able to see Minda's naked body. He thought about hiding his true thoughts but seeing Minda's eyes only the truth could change his mind.

"Everyone will see you naked."

"We can bring the carriage over to block everyone's direct view." Minda suggested without skipping a beat. Kai was surprised Minda had thought of a solution so quickly. It wasn't a perfect, but it was a solution. One Kai was having a hard time refuting.

"MinMin, I..."

"Please, the further north we go the colder it gets. This is the only opportunity I will have to experience something like this." Minda said. Kai closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"We don't have to stay in the water for a long time." Minda said knowing Kai was reluctant to agree.

"Let me arrange a few things and we can bathe in the river later tonight." Kai said after a long pause.

"Thank you." Minda happily said as he rolled over to where Gen was preparing dinner. Kai watched him leave. He wanted to follow but had his own tasks to complete.

"I wonder if Minda would agree to taking a bath after everyone is asleep?" Kai mused before returning towards the carriage to deal with the horses.

"What is this?" Minda asked as he looked at the setup Kai had prepared.

"It's for privacy."

"I get that but isn't this too much?" Minda asked dumbfounded by what he saw. He looked at the area Kai had set up. He had taken ropes and tied them from the carriage to a tree located on the other side of the river. From those ropes he hung large sheets that reach all the way down to the water's surface.

"In case you start to feel cold there are two large pots of hot water." Kai explained.

"That's thoughtful." Minda said with a light chuckle.
