The next day Minda wanted to try horseback riding again. His thighs were still sore but he really enjoyed it and figured the more he rode the horse the less painful it would feel.

"Let's go down to the stables." Minda said while they ate breakfast.

"Tomorrow."

"Today."

"You were complaining about the pain less than an hour ago."

"I know but yesterday was a lot of fun." Minda said. Kai still wanted to refuse but seeing how excited Minda was he couldn't refuse.

"Okay, but it's best to keep it short. Your body is more fragile than most and you need to give it time to heal." Kai said.

"A short ride is fine."

Kai was happy to see him so excited about going horseback riding again. His plan to open up Minda's world was working. Soon they would be able to travel, hunt, and anything else Minda's heart desired.

...

After breakfast they went down the mountain to the stables. Kai lifted Minda up and placed him on the horse. This time Minda felt more secure and held himself up without difficulty.

"You've gotten better." Kai praised.

"Hehe." Minda smiled proudly from the praise as he sat atop the horse. Kai thought he looked cute and wanted to kiss his rosy cheeks. Too low to reach Kai pulled himself up and mounted the horse behind Minda. He then pulled Minda into his embrace and lightly kissed his cheek.

"Should we go around the farm again?" Kai asked.

"No, let's head towards the mountain." Minda said with a light blush.

"Okay."

...

The ride was brief but Minda didn't mind. They had gone up the mountain a short distance and enjoyed the ride through the trees. Along the way Kai suggested maybe taking Minda along when he went hunting the next time.

"Do you want your cone with me next time I go hunting?"

"Can I really go? Even with my leg like this." Minda asked. He couldn't believe that Kai would suggest taking him hunting.

"If we go on horseback you should be able to come along. I also have something for you to use when we go hunting." Kai said.

"Is it the gift from the jewelry store?"

"No, it's the one from the blacksmith." Kai clarified.

"The thing you were having made was for me?" Minda asked. He had been so distracted by the jewelry store gift he forgot about the one from the blacksmith.

"That's right."

"What is it?"

"I'll show you when we return to the estate." Kai said. Minda was excited to see what Kai had built him and didn't mind when Kai cut the ride short and headed back towards the stables.

...

"What's my surprise?" Minda asked again when Kai brought him to the garden. The area he chose was wide open and empty. It was an area they often went to for short walks.

"Wait while I prepare a few things." Kai said before walking away. He first went to the hunting shed to get a target. He remembered seeing them set up behind the shed. While Minda waited he tried to guess what Kai's gift could be. Kai had hinted that it could be used for hunting.

"I remember Kai saying something about teaching me archery a while back. Could that be what Kai has prepared?" Minda mused. He liked the idea of learning to shoot a bow but when he squeezed his left hand he found it hard to believe it was possible.
