After their shocking wedding proposal Minda and Kai were closer than ever and forgot that they were currently in the middle of a clothing store. Auntie Feifei however did not.
"Young Master, this is not the place to be intimate." She said while trying to hide them from prying eyes.
Minda didn't care and continued to hold Kai tight. Kai on the other hand could see people staring and begin to whisper. He normally wouldn't care but he started to hear some of the women whispering about Minda being an embarrassment to the Chen family.
"Minda, let's hurry up and finish our shopping." Kai said as he lifted Minda back into his wheelchair while he did he made sure to give the other patrons an intense glare. Minda looked reluctant to let go but with both Kai and Auntie Feifei telling him to stop he wouldn't argue.
"Can we order the wedding clothes?" Minda asked his eyes wandering over to the intricately designed red wedding outfit next to them.
"We can." Kai said with a smile.
Auntie Feifei turned to the tailor who was waiting to measure them. However when she saw that he was frowning and looking at her Young Master with disrespect she changed her mind .
"I suggest we go to our usual tailor and clothing shop." Auntie Feifei said.
"Isn't it more expensive." Minda whispered while glancing at Kai. Auntie Feifei also stared at Kai knowing Minda wouldn't leave unless he agreed to go.
"It's for our wedding. No expense should be spared." Kai said. Personally he didn't want to rely on Minda's money but he also didn't want to stay at a shop with people who dared to look down on them.
"Okay but can we take enough of the gray and green cloth to make outfits for Kai?" Minda asked. He liked the green and knew Kai liked the gray cloth. It seemed a shame not to take them.
"If that is what you want." Auntie Feifei said.
Auntie Feifei asked for the green and gray cloth to go. When the salesperson and tailor realized they were about to lose their patronage they tried their best to persuade Minda to stay.
"Our tailors are incredibly skilled. I assure you, you will not regret purchasing your wedding outfits from us." The salesclerk said. Minda didn't seem to doubt their words but looked to Kai and Auntie Feifei for their opinion. Neither of which seemed happy with the salesclerks words. Auntie Feifei was even crossing her arms and staring at the tailor with contempt.
"The Young Master deserves the highest quality cloth and service. Something the likes of you will never understand."
Her words sounded polite but held a unique air of intimidation and pride belonging to the head staff of a large noble estate. The salespeople understood they had upset her. Trying not to lose a potential large purchase they attempted to smooth things over.
"We apologize if we've offended you in some way but..."
Kai didn't want to stand around and listen to them. He picked Minda up in his arms and stood up to leave. Auntie Feifei understood his intention and was happy to follow his lead.
"Have your staff return our Young Master's wheelchair to the first floor and wrap the cloth. We will be leaving now." Auntie Feifei interrupted in a brusque voice. The staff wanted to say more but both Kai and Auntie Feifei were already walking down the stairs before they could.
...
Kai walked out first carrying Minda directly to the carriage while Auntie Feifei dealt with the staff. He had no patience for the people in the shop who dared to sour their moment.
