After some time passed Kai seemed satisfied and stood up. Minda expected him to go get his wheelchair and roll it over but instead he picked Minda up and carried him to it. At first, Minda was surprised, but soon calmed down. Through his arm that was pressed up against Kai's chest he could feel Kai's steady heartbeat and it reminded him of when he was carried by him through the dungeon.
"His body is different but he is still strong and kind." Minda quietly mused. When Kai lowered him into his wheelchair Minda looked up at him with big eyes.
"Is something wrong?" Kai asked.
"No, everything is great." Minda said with a sweet smile.
Once in his wheelchair Minda felt something missing. He immediately looked over to the bed. Kai noticed his gaze and walked over to it. He looked around and after some thought grabbed one of the blankets for Minda.
"Thank you." Minda said when Kai placed the blanket on his lap. His eyes wandering towards the bed again. Kai once again noticed and walked over again. This time he grabbed one of the pillows for Minda. He helped Minda sit up and placed the pillow behind his back for support.
"Thank you." Minda once again said. Kai thought everything would be fine but as he moved to push Minda he saw his eyes wandering towards the bed again.
"Did I forget something?" Kai wondered. He once again headed towards the bed and looked around. He stood there for a long time trying to figure out what Minda was yearning for. When he couldn't figure it out he decided to ask Minda directly.
"What do you want?"
"I'm fine. I have everything I need." Minda said. Kai however didn't believe him. He looked at the bed again and tried to figure out what it was Minda kept glancing at.
Then it hit him. he bent down and picked up the stone that was left on the floor. Holding the stone he looked over at Minda again. Minda's eyes were fixated on the stone in his arms.
"Did you want this?" Kai asked Minda despite already knowing the answer.
"Ah, no... not really." Minda said with a light blush. Kai didn't believe him and carried the stone over to Minda. Out of habit Minda moved his hands away from his lap to make space for the stone. Kai gently placed it on his lap.
"Is it heavy?"
"Not at all.' Minda said as he wrapped his arms around it. Kai couldn't help but wonder why Minda wanted to carry the stone. It was a question he had last night as well when he saw the stone in bed next to Minda. Despite his curiosity he decided not to question him.
Minda knew he was strange for wanting to carry the stone with him. The reason he had been obsessed with the stone was because it helped him feel connected to Kai. Now that he had the real Kai by his side it seemed only natural that he wouldn't need the stone but his lap felt empty without it.
"Does he think I'm weird?" Minda nervously wondered as he glanced at Kai behind him. Kai however didn't seem bothered at all. He quietly pushed him out of the room.
"Where do I go?" Kai asked.
"To the right. The main kitchen is in the East wing of the estate." Minda explained. Kai turned right and headed towards the kitchen.
"What do you like to eat?" Minda asked Kai.
"Fruit." Kai said.
"Really?! That's a surprise. I thought all men loved meat." Minda exclaimed.
"Meat is important to build muscle but fruit tastes better." Kai admitted without shame.
"There is a lot of fruit trees growing in and around ZiLong Mountain. Once my leg heals I'll show you where to find the best ones." Minda said.
