After dinner Minda and Kai took a bath. Minda was more subconscious about being seen naked so Kai let him use the screen to undress by himself.

After their bath they spent the rest of the time reading together. They were on their second book and Minda loved chatting after every few pages. Kai also enjoyed listening to his impressions of the book. Minda may have seemed naive and ignorant at times but when discussing books he had many insightful and profound ideas.

"If it wasn't for his family Minda would have become a great scholar." Kai solemnly thought as he gently kissed Minda's soft gray hair.

"Kai?" Minda called out when he noticed Kai staring at him.

"Nothing. I was just thinking it's getting late. We should go to bed." Kai said.

"You're right. We can read some more tomorrow."

Minda closed his copy of the book and placed it on the end table. He wouldn't have said it himself but he was feeling tired. Kai picked him off the sofa and carried him over to the bed.

The little leopards yowled to get Kai's attention after being left behind on the sofa. They would have followed but it was too far for them to jump.

"Kai go get Huan and Xianli." Minda said. Kai looked at them but was in no rush to go get them. He continued to help tuck Minda under the blanket. The little leopards cried out louder which worried Minda.

"Kai, hurry up and go help them." Minda urged as he pulled on Kai's sleeve.

Kai walked over to the safe and stared down at the pitiful little leopards. He knew Minda wanted him to carry them over to the bed but he had no intention of letting them sleep in their bed. He picked them up and placed them in their own bed.

"Kai, why are you putting them over there?"

"We talked about this. The leopards will sleep in their own bed at night." Kai reminded him.

"I know that's what we agreed on but look how sad they are. They obviously aren't ready to sleep apart." Minda said but Kai didn't care.

"They'll get used to it." Kai said. He blew out the lamp then slipped into bed next to Minda. Normally Minda would move closer and make himself comfortable but instead he stared into the darkness listening to the pitter patter of the leopards' feet as they ran over to the bed.

"They want up." Minda said as he climbed on top of Kai to pick them up from the floor. Kai didn't want to let them up so he hugged Minda and rolled him back over to his side of the bed. The sudden intimate act surprised Minda and in a fluster he started to wiggle and struggle under Kai's large body.

"What are you doing? We... we aren't married yet!" Minda exclaimed in a panic. Kai laughed a little at his response. He wasn't actually going to do anything but now he felt it would be a shame if he didn't.

Leaning over him Kai could barely make out the contours of Minda's face in the dark. Even so, it didn't stop him. He slowly moved his hand from Minda's thin waist all the way up to his soft chin. Unlike Kai Minda didn't need to shave. His face always felt smooth and delicate.

With his hand as a guide Kai leaned down and found Minda's quivering lips. They were parted leaving a small gap. Kai couldn't resist the temptation and as they kissed he inserted his tongue. He didn't go deep. He only lightly licked Minda's lips never going past his teeth.

Shocked by Kai's use of his tongue Minda turned his head. He didn't expect it. Worse he didn't expect to like it so much. Kai knew he was feeling flustered but he didn't want to stop just yet. He gently touched Minda's jaw with his lips. His breath felt hot against Minda's skin.
