When they reached the clothing shop Minda was brought directly to a private room. Waiting for them were several outfits ready for Kai and Minda to try on.
"You go first." Minda insisted. Kai wasn't that interested in trying on the clothes. He believed the tailor had done his job and they would fit even without him doing a second fitting.
"No need. You should go first. Yours need to take into consideration the wheelchair." Kai said.
"I guess."
"Young Master do you require assistance?" The tailor MuFen asked.
"No." Minda said as he tried to roll himself behind the screen. Kai saw him struggling so he moved to help but Minda pushed him away.
"I can do it myself."
He normally wouldn't mind getting a little help from Kai but after the incident in the carriage he had been feeling strange. Kai however ignored his words and proceeded to push him to the other side of the screen.
"Kai, please! I don't want you back here." Minda whispered once they were behind the screen.
"No need to be shy." Kai said. He knew Minda was feeling self-conscious because his face had turned red. Knowing Minda had started to have more 'intimate' thoughts about him brought a smile to his face.
"Kai, we're in public." Minda loudly rebuked.
"I'll be on the other side if you need me." Kai said after placing the light wisteria violet coloured outfit on the bench next to him.
Once Kai was gone Minda proceeded to change. It was much easier to do considering he no longer carried the dungeon stone on his lap. It now stayed by his bedside on a pedestal for safe keeping because the leopards now took possession of his lap.
After a few minutes Minda successfully changed into the violet outfit. Once dressed he wished he could simply walk out but when he tried to put weight on his right leg a bolt of pain rain through it.
"Ow!" Minda quietly said as he fell back into his wheelchair.
"Minda, are you okay?" Kai asked.
"I'm fine. I'm coming out now." Minda said.
"Do you need help?"
"No, I can do it." Minda stated as he tried his best to roll himself out from behind the screen. Auntie Feifei and MuFen stepped forward the moment he rolled over to check his clothing.
"The hem line fits well and no longer drapes past the footrest."
"The fit is just right. Not too tight allowing for some weight gain but no longer raggedy or oversized."
Auntie Feifei and MuFen walked around Minda checking the length and fit of his clothing. They seemed satisfied but Minda was more interested in what Kai thought.
"What do you think?" Minda asked.
"It suits you." Kai honestly replied. The light purple colour complimented his gray hair.
"Minda really does look picturesque." Kai thought. While most looked at Minda's gray hair with disdain Kai always found it as beautiful as the moonlight shining on a dark night.
Minda was glad Kai liked it and smiled bright. He was then handed another outfit to try on and pushed back behind the screen.
...
After the third outfit Minda sat behind the screen intending to try on the next outfit but he couldn't muster the strength to stand. He was recovering but after days without sleep or a healthy appetite he had exhausted all his strength after trying on just a few outfits.
