Things were awkward for awhile. Minda stayed in bed playing with the leopards a bit vexed that Kai went over to the sofa. Kai wasn't an idiot and knew his choice to move wasn't the best but the he couldn't risk pinning Minda down on the bed again.Knock... knock
"Young Master, may I come in?" Auntie Feifei asked from the other side of the door. Minda welcomed the intrusion and invited her in a little too enthusiastically.
"Come in!" He exclaimed.
Auntie Feifei walked in with a box of beautiful paper and bright red envelopes. Minda moved to his wheelchair and tried his best to roll closer.
"What's that?" Minda asked. Kai was also curious and and got up from the sofa to have a look. He had been sitting on the sofa cleaning his knives while trying to rid his mind of lecherous thoughts.
"I have prepared the paper and envelopes for the wedding invitations. Unfortunately, they must be written by you personally given the prestige of the guests." Auntie Feifei explained.
"That's fine. I don't mind writing them but what exactly am I supposed to write?" Minda asked.
"I've found the wedding invitations your mother and father wrote for your brothers and sisters as well as those written for your nieces and nephews. You can use them as a template for writing your own." She explained.
Kai walked over to the table unimpressed by the pile of paper. He had just talked to Minda about resting his hand and now there was even more work for him to do.
"As the 'bride' can I help?" Kai asked. Auntie Feifei looked at Kai with a troubled look. She knew nothing of Kai's education or if his skill with an ink brush was good enough.
"These invitations will be sent to many influential families within the Capital. They will be expecting beautiful handwritten invitations."
"It's fine Kai. I enjoy writing and my left hand won't be a problem if it's on a flat surface like paper." Minda said knowing why Kai looked concerned.
"Even if your hand wasn't hurt this is too much for one person to do." Kai said.
"It isn't that much. As long as I can keep them short and sweet I should be able to finish them within a day." Minda said.
"Do they all have to include personal and original messages or can they all be the same?" Kai asked Feifei.
"If you look at past examples the family has sent standard messages. However there are a few that require more thought. I've made a list of them here." Auntie Feifei said while taking out a short list of names.
Kai took the paper and read the names listed. At the very top was the new Emperor followed by the names of several influential families within the Capital that could not be ignored.
"This is fine, but must the Lee's be included?" Kai questioned.
"The Lee's are one of the top five families and hold a lot of power within the palace." Auntie Feifei explained.
"I'm aware of their status but they were also the previous Emperor's most faithful dogs. After what happened to Minda's family I don't think they even deserve an invitation to the wedding." Kai explained.
He might have been a soldier stationed at the border but he wasn't ignorant of what was happening in the Capital. General Lei was well informed and as his foster son and right hand man Kai also knew the situation.
"Is that true?" Minda asked. He hated the previous Emperor and if Kai was right he definitely didn't want to invite the Lee's to his wedding even if only out of duty.
