My arms were crossed over my chest as I glare out of the car window. After leaving a work party, Kelly and I are on our way back home. We did nothing but argue the whole time, making it uncomfortable for everyone. Fighting is something we seemed to be doing a lot of lately. It's making me worried what's to come for us. I love him so much but all this arguing is taking a toll on my mental health. We both exchanged some hurtful words now neither one of us dare to speak.

I'm afraid if I say anything, it will just cause another fight. It's already so late and I'm tired so fighting isn't something I wanna do. He stops at a red light and we sit there in silence. The radio is turned down low so it's the only noise in the car. I could feel eyes on me and turned my head to see him staring. Without saying a word, I turn away to continue looking out the window.

"Are you hungry?" He asks once the light turns green.

"What?" I ask confused.

"I can stop somewhere if you're hungry?"

"Oh um...no thanks." I shake my head. The silence started to get uncomfortable after that. We spent so much time fighting that trying to have a normal conversation is making things awkward. Instead we just don't speak the whole way home. Even after getting into the house and ready for bed.

We lay there facing away from each other in the dark room. No words were spoken making me wonder if he is asleep. I'm so used to feeling him close to me at night, that it's making me kind of sad not having his arms around me.

"I'm sorry." He mutters in the quiet room. After a moment of silence I turn around to see him already facing me.  "I'm sorry for everything I said back at the party." He apologizes while tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. My hand reaches up to grab his, holding it tightly.

"I'm sorry too. What I said, none of it was okay. I'm just worried about us. We have been fighting so much lately. I don't...I don't want to lose you." I admit. He grabs my body, pulling me close to him and leaving a kiss on my forehead.

"You're never going to lose me. I'm yours. I believe that we can get through anything together. We need to start communicating better. I think that's our problem." He replies.

"I agree."

We finally made up and it felt good to go to sleep on good terms. The next morning when waking up, I decide to make breakfast and surprise him. He walks in the kitchen while the pancakes are on the stove. "It smells great in here." He compliments.

"Good because it will be ready soon." I grin. He leaves a kiss on my lips then starts making some coffee. These are the mornings I've missed since we starts fighting so much. He means everything to me and I really want us to work. The food is soon done so we sit and eat together.

"This is amazing, thank you." He grabs my hand in his.

"Of course. It's my pleasure."

"I love you y/n." He assures me. It brought a smile to my face hearing him say that. It always makes my heart melt when he says it even if he tells me that every day.

"I love you too, Kelly." I reply. After breakfast we enjoy the day together since we both had the day off. We ended up working more on communicating with each other and it seemed to help us not fight as much. I'm just happy that it didn't lead to anything like us breaking up. He is my best friend and I love Kelly so much.
