The Past Revisited pt 1

Tav's pov

I brought ash out to an empty forest in one of the other worlds I knew that was close, I put her down as well so she could see everything. It had a calming feeling to the place with not much really around besides the plants and animals. Looking over at her the place thankfully seemed to cheer up at least a bit from what was bothering her earlier. I didn't say a word to allow us both to enjoy the scenery and the silence that came with it.

At least until she spoke up "hey um...can I ask you something a bit.... personal?" She asked nervously. "Of course, what is it?" I responded

"How was life like while you were growing up?..." She didn't make eye contact as she spoke, it was obvious she was nervous about the topic yet still wanted to talk about it. "Well it wasn't exactly pleasant, why are you interested about it anyway I thought you didn't like talking about the past?" I asked looking over at her.

"I still don't believe me it's just...." She paused taking a breath. "There's something that happened that's still stuck in my head, and I can't get over it no matter how much I try to forget" she explained.

"Well maybe talking about it can help, when I talked about my problems aloud it helped me a lot more than I thought it would" I responded and slowly to not freak ash out brought her closer to both try and give her comfort but take away her negativity at the same time. She took a few deep breaths to steady herself before she began explaining, "you remember how I said my parents sold me without a care in the world?" She said and I nodded.

"Well I..... lied a little about that, only one of my parents didn't care and was the one that sold me. I still remember it clearly....."

Flashback/ash's pov

I got up from my bed rubbing my eyes, I couldn't go back to sleep no matter how many times I tried. 'maybe getting a drink of water can help me go back to sleep..' I thought, going to the kitchen. As I got to the doorframe to the kitchen though I heard mom and dad talking to each other, I was curious what they were talking about so I got closer to better hear them.

"So we're completely sure of this right?" I heard mom ask dad as he just gave a small "yup" in return. It felt off though so I tried to see if I could look at what was happening, I could see dad and mom at the table mom was facing away from the doorframe and Dad was sat across from her where I could see him.

His eyes had these pink and blue swirls to it which I know he didn't have before because his eyes were always brown...it felt like he was acting like one of the zombies from that cartoon I watched. "Oh! Sweetheart what are you doing up?"

I looked up and saw my mom had stood in front of me so fast i didn't notice. "I...uhm couldn't sleep...and i wanted some water...." I said feeling nervous but not understanding why, "here let me help you get some then we'll get you right back to bed" she spoke and picked me up.

She got me a cup of water and led me to bed but dad still just stood there in the kitchen, everything about this felt odd and I didn't know why.....

A few days later

Dad drove me to this huge white building, it looked almost like a hospital from the outside. When we got there he helped me out and brought me to the front door though it still felt odd because Dad had those blue and pink swirls...

We went inside and I saw mom standing there like she was waiting for us. "Ah there you are I've been waiting for you!" She said coming over to us, she has a blue vest of sorts with a white jacket around her waist, grey pants with black shoes and her hair put up with very strange glasses, all dad did was push me to her and then leave.

"Where is dad going?" I asked confused, "he's going right back home while me and you spend some time here" she said bringing me down some hallway. Everyone around us all had the same pink and blue swirls over their eyes my dad had.

"I didn't know until years later that, that place was a lab and I was gonna be stuck there for a long time. Those pink and blue swirls were just her magic which lets her control people, that's why my dad didn't seem to care at all...." I could feel myself crying over remembering it all.

Suddenly I felt tav hug me bringing me closer to her, she didn't say anything but it gave me comfort in being held like this and everything. It felt better then when she used to hug me in the past....

"You'll never have to go through that again, I promise you" she whispered to me a fair bit after I had finally stopped crying, i just nodded and in response as she just held and comforted me for what felt like forever.

Tav's pov

After what felt like hours I decided we should probably head back so we wouldn't worry any of the others. I still held ash as we teleported back to the castle going inside, I let out a small chuckle though at seeing kit on the couch with the little kids trying to put some weird coloring stuff on her that I didn't recognize.

"So what'd I miss?" I asked, going over to her "not much apparently these guys never tried makeup before so I decided to let them practice on me while we still wait for Lucifer" she responded.

"By the way moon left earlier as well some au had a bit to much negativity she went to check on it, she'll be back later" I nodded okay and went to bring ash to bed.

Hey everyone! Long time no see, sorry I haven't updated this book in a while school has been keeping me extra busy but to make it up I made two chapters for ya!
I'll try and see if I can write more but it might not be a guarantee sadly T-T
