"This isn't what we planned"

Sally was freaking out she grabbed her hospital bag and was heading out of their room as fast as she could. Adam followed her
"No we are not having this baby here. We need to try"she yelled
"Sally it's not safe, there are trees down. They don't want anyone driving. And I will risk us getting stuck, I'm sorry"
Sally was crying when another contraction on the stairs she bent down
"Ow" she screamed "ADAM"
Adam came next to her and took her hand "I'm here"he told her
Sally sat down on the step and leaned into Adam still crying
"Sal, let's get you off the stairs okay" he said rubbing her arms
Sally nodded and stood up
"Let's go down stairs and sit on the couch" he said walking her down
Adam brought her to the couch and sat in front of her
"How about this, we can see if the passes and we'll call for help. This was what third contraction"he asked
Sally nodded
"Okay I'll time it for the next one. To see how far apart they are"he took her hand

They were still on the couch Adam was holding her. Sally's head was on his chest
"The good news your contractions don't seem that close together.. so we may have some time" he looked at her
After he said it she had another one, she grabbed onto him
"It's okay got you" he said
"Adam we can't have it here" she cried
Adam waiting until passed to talk
Sally leaned back to relax. Adam rubbed her face
"Sally can you tell me why you don't want to have this baby here" he said
"We just can't"she cried
"Alright" he hugged her "Do you want anything"he asked
Sally shook her head "I might walk around for a bit" she told him
Adam nodded and helped her up

Sally was in the kitchen for a little while when she began to yell for Adam. He ran in
"What's wrong"he asked running over to her "Another contraction already" he asked
Sally nodded and gripped the the chair "And my water broke.. Adam it's happening so fast" she said trying catch her breath
"Okay, everything is fine" he was reassuring her
"How a part for this one from the last one"she asked
"Ten minutes it's okay"he told her
Sally looked outside "And the storm still looks bad"she said
"I know but it's gonna be okay Sal. Let's get you back upstairs .. just incase" he told her her "I'll call Elena"
Sally nodded and went into his arms hugged him
"I'm scared" she whispered
Adam pulled out of her hold to look at her "Baby, you got to tell me why you are so scared to have this baby here" he cupped her face
"I don't want what happened to Mazie to happen again"
Adam nodded "Sally what happened to Mazie was scary it was but it won't happen again"he kissed her
Adam picked her up "Come on, let's get you comfortable" he said heading back up

Sally was sitting on the bed Adam was beside her rubbing her leg, calling Elena
"Hello" she answered
"Elena hi it's Adam Newman"he said
"Hello, what can I do for you"she asked
"I know it's probably crazy at the hospital with this storm" he said as the thunder happened
"Yea it is"she chuckled
"Look it's crazy for us too because Sally went into labor" he said looking at Sally who was trying to stay calm
"Oh no and the roads are bad"she told him.
"Yes which is why I didn't want to risk driving"
"How far apart are her contractions"she asked
"They are about ten min..."he started saying
Sally had another gripping his hand
"No now it's eight minutes... Elena should it be happening this fast" he asked
"With it being her second baby it's normal for things to move quicker" she informed him "But she has time before it's gets really intense for her" she said
"What can I do for her"he asked
"Try and keep her calm .. I know it's hard with everything.. I'll send out an alert for someone to come when they can. And I'll be on call so if you'd like you can call me and I'll talk you through"
"Okay sounds good" he said and hung up
Adam got up and went and got a wash cloth. He then came one to her side and began to dab in on her face
"Elena said we have some time before things start happening"he told her
Sally nodded and exhaled
"You okay was it a contraction" he asked
"No, I just feel so much pressure"she whispered
"That's Bug making their move won't be long" he kept rubbing her face
"Adam it's okay to be a little scared right" she cried
Adam went and sat next to her and held her "What are you scare of"
"This isn't what we planned I'm supposed to be in a hospital with the help of an epidural"
"I know" he kissed her cheek "But you got this I know it"
Sally pressed up against him as a contraction hit "Ahh" she groaned
"Just breath through I got you"he told her

A couple hours passed not only did Sally's labor intense but so did the storm. Sally was bent over the foot of the bed breathing through a contraction. Adam came back in from the bathroom with towels and other things they may need
"We should place a bet which happens first the storm stopping or Bug making their entrance"he laughed
Sally glared at him mid contraction
"Okay no jokes got it" he came over and held her "Good girl" he kissed her head
"We are so done having kids" she said after and stood up
Adam gave a small laugh knowing it was the pain talking "What ever you want.. I'm content with the three with you"
"You know what I want now" she said pulling her hair up
"What is it Baby"
"Can you ... rub my lower back where the pressure is" she said catching her breath
"Sure, let's get you back in bed"he said helping her into bed
Adam began to massage her back. He heard the relief in her voice from the pressure
"Right there" she said trying relax
Adam smiled and continued the massage "You know it's not so bad having me deliver this baby. I have done it before" he told her
"Adam I don't think delivering a calf counts as an expert"she groaned
"No I have delivered a baby before. I delivered Johnny for Chelsea" he told her
Sally pushed him off her "Did you just bring up your ex wife's birth all while I you current wife is in labor.., with your child"she looked annoyed
"Sally I only meant to let you know I know how to do this.. and the bright side Johnny wasn't mine"he tried lightening up the mood
Sally nodded "Okay I'm sorry"she said
Adam kissed her "It's all good"he wiped her tears away
Sally gasped
"Are you okay"he looked at her
"You might need to call Elena" she said as her voice broke "I feel the baby"she gave a panicked look
"Okay,I will let me check"he told her
Sally laid down, Adam checked then grabbed his phone and FaceTimed Elena
"Hey Adam how are things going"she asked
"ELENA THE BABY IS COMING"Sally scream
"It's gonna okay Sally I'm here to talk Adam through okay.. try and relax.Adam do you see the head" she asked
"Yes"he told her
"Okay, that's what we want. On Sally's next contraction the baby should start coming"
"I feel it" Sally alerted them
"Okay Sally start pushing but not to hard okay... let your body do it's thing"
Sally began to push
"You got this Babe" he told her "I see them coming"
"Really" she said still pushing"
"Yes, it won't be long"
Sally laid after catching her breath
"Sally look at me" he told her
She did
"I know you are exhausted. I'm so so proud of you right now"he rubbed her knee "I know this isn't how planned bringing Bug into this world, but we did plan to do it together and we are"he smiled
"I'm just so tired" she said all exhausted
"I know, and few more pushes and this baby will be in our arms forever"
Sally nodded "I need to push again" she told him
"You do your thing"he told
Sally barely screamed with this next contraction and took over
"Good girl"Adam cheered her on "I'm going to get anything you want for doing this. You want a car, done. You want trip somewhere, just name where"he told her
Sally shook her head "No, no trip that's how we wound up with Bug" she groaned
Adam smiled at her "Bug was the best souvenir from our honeymoon"he said
"Sally you got this, they are almost here Baby"
Sally laid back down and waited "How much longer"
"Not long just relax as I guide the shoulders out" he said
"Sally you are doing amazing"Elena told her
Adam looked at her "Do you think you have one more in you" he smiled
Sally nodded, she put all her strength into it
"Sally you did Baby, she here" Adam started crying
"She"she asked "We have another girl" she cried tears of joy
"Yes, we have another beautiful girl"he looked down
Sally panicked "Elena why isn't she crying she's supposed to be crying" she said
"Adam can you gently clear out the fluid in her nose"she said
Adam was doing that "Come on Bug let us hear your voice" he said
A couple seconds later a loud cry was heard
"Oh thank God" Sally was relieved
Adam placed their daughter on Sally "That's my girl"he said softly
Sally held her baby "I'm so happy you finally decided to join us.. I been waiting to meet who's been kicking me"she said looking at her
Adam kissed her head "I'm so proud" he said then looked at the baby
"I'm going to send out EMTs to come check on you both"Elena said "I let you three bond. Adam in a few minutes if the paramedics aren't there yet, she might feel pain again, don't panic it's her body releasing the placenta and all the other fun stuff" she's chuckled
"Okay sounds good. Thanks for everything" he hung up

Adam sat in bed next to her both of them staring at the baby
"She's perfect" Adam said
"Yes she is"Sally said softly while stroking the baby's cheek
"Sally look what you brought into this world" he said still with tears in his eyes
Sally looked at him "No look what we did"she took his hand "I couldn't imagine doing this with out you .. we make a good team"
Adam just kissed the side of her head. Sally rested her head on his shoulder
"Adam"she said softly
"Yes Sally" he answered
"About earlier,what I said about being down with having kids"she looked at the baby "I don't mean it, this moment tops all the pain" she told him
"It is a magical moment" he smiled at his daughter
"But can we wait a couple year"she said looking at him "I just want to enjoy this time"she laid into Adam
"That's a good plan"he kissed her "I love you"
