"Do you know what this man is up too"

It's been a couple weeks and Hadley has a lot more good days then bad. Adam and Sally hired her a tutor so on her good days, she could catch up on school work. With how smart she was they weren't to concerned
The three of them were eating lunch in her room. Abby sent over food for them and extra noddles for Hadley. Adam and Sally were smiling watching their little girl eat her favorite food
"It looks like someone enjoyed their alfrado noodles "Adam chuckled wiping off the sauce on her face
"It's so good to see her have her appetite back" Sally said taking a bite of her food
"When can I go home" Hadley asked "Abby's magic cells are making me better so why can't I be home"
"Hopefully soon Bean"Sally said softly caressing her face
"But I missed Halloween and now Thanksgiving, am I going to miss Christmas too"she asked looking sad
This broke Adam and Sally's hearts
"We don't know yet. We are hoping to be all together by then"Adam said
Hadley leaned her head on Sally's arm, Sally was stroking her hair which thinned out with the chemo

While Hadley was with her tutor. Adam and Sally decided to step out of the hospital for a bit they went to Crimson Lights. They were sitting at the table
"It feels so foreign to be here. I feel like all we ever saw for months were white walls"Sally looked around "And work when was the last time we actually were there and thought about it" she said
"I know who knows if N+S is still standing" he joked "I know Audra and Nick are looking after it for us"he said
Sally gave him a small nod
"You thinking about Haddie" he asked looking into her eyes
Sally looked down at her cup "I can't get what she asked out of head. What if she isn't home for Christmas our daughter doesn't need anymore disappointments. What if she's still in that damn hospital" she got irritated
Adam slid his chair over "Hey her last readings were good we gotta stay positive for her. But I can feel it Sally she's going to be home by then or even before Christmas"he was stroking his thumb across her cheek
"I just want our life back. Or the life we were all together"she whispered
Adam kissed her lips "Me too"he kissed her again
Sally pulled away "Oh no, I just thought something" she looked panicked
"What" he asked
"We are going to need a bigger house" she said "We only have the guest room left"she told him
"Then we won't have guests" he laughed
Sally laughed as well, she leaned her forehead against his.
Adam's phone rang
"Is it about Hadley" Sally got worried "Do we need to go back"she asked
"No, I actually need to go take care of something. So I'll dropped you back off at the hospital, then be back after"
Sally nodded but was confused "Oh .. okay" she said

Once Adam saw Sally go into the hospital he called the person back
"Hey, sorry I had to drop Sally off. Did you get the stuff" he asked
"Yes, I surprisingly found everything . I'm still meeting you to help right"they asked
"Yes,I'm here.. I'll grab the keys so just meet me up there"

Adam was on the rooftop of the hospital looking over the courtyard waiting for Nick. Nick entered with all the boxes
"I can't believe they are letting you use the rooftop"Nick said looking around
"Being a Newman has its perks"Adam joked grabbing the boxes from Nick
"So are we setting them in order or sporadically"Nick asked
"Sporadically is fine. It just needs to be every holiday"Adam told him
"So is my niece doing"Nick asked as they set up the rooftop
"She's doing good"he paused when he saw the Christmas decorations "She wants to go home and she's worried she won't be home for Christmas" he said
"Any hope to that happening"Nick asked
"The doctors think she'll be able too. I just don't know what I would do if she isn't. Hadley has been so good through this she's hasn't complained or got upset, she's been so strong. She gets that for her mother. But if she isn't home Nick my little girl might lose her spirit"
"I know it's hard, but you can't think like Adam, like you said the doctors are hopeful. It's good to have a goal Hadley will fight be home" he said "She's a Newman there's nothing she can't do"
"She's a Spectra too"
"Even more determination in her"he said "Come on we got to finish this before it gets dark"

Adam finally went back to Hadley's room. When he walked in he found her and Sally dancing. He stood there watching them singing and giggling. Sally twirled Hadley slowly. When the song ended Haddie hugged her Mommy. She then saw her Daddy standing there
"Daddy, dance with me" she ran to him
Adams picked her up and spun her around
"Daddy would love too Bean, but he's gonna need to take a rain check because Daddy needs to borrow Mommy for a little while"he told her
Hadley wrapped her arms around his neck "Okay"she smiled
"Adam what are up to"Sally questioned
"You'll see" he smirked "First I need you to go put that dress on"he gestured to the chair where it was resting
"Okay" she said unsure what was going on
"Maybe while Mommy gets dressed we can do a little dancing"Haddie asked wiggling in his arms
"Sounds like a perfect plan"he said started dancing

When Sally came out in a burgundy dress that was slightly flowing but hugged her small bump. She saw Adam helping Hadley back into bed, when he saw her it took his breath away
"You look so beautiful" he said
"Are you sure I look okay"she asked nervously looking down "I'm starting to show"
"I'm absolutely sure" he came up to her "And that bump makes you even more beautiful Sal" he placed his hand on it
"So if you are taking me somewhere, who's staying with Haddie" she asked
Right on cue Elena walked in, with some goodies for Haddie
"Adam you dragged Elena into this. The poor woman works here"she said
"I don't mind at all besides I'm the perfect person .. I know all the secret places that we keep the best snacks"
Haddie giggled
Sally smiled coming over to Haddie "Be good for Elena Bean"she kissed her. Sally came up to Elena "Do you know what this man is up too" Sally asked
"Yes, you'll love it" she kissed Sally's cheek as she passed by her
Adam took her hand and they left

They were in the elevator Adam pulled out a scarf, Sally gave him a look
"What's that for"she asked "It's not cold"
"I know, it's for your surprise" he gestured for her to turn "Turn around please" he said
She did "You're not trying to kidnap your own wife are you" she chuckled
"Stop it"he was laughing as he tied it around her "You can't see anything right"
"Nope nothing but darkness"
"Good" he took her hand "I got you"he whispered and squeezed it
Adam guided her outside on the rooftop
"So I know for the past few months have been hell. Our main focus has been on Hadley mostly. And with everything we lost track of what day it is. But there is one day we can't forget" he leaned his chin on her shoulder "The day we got married, that day was the start of this journey with you. Yes we had our beautiful Mazie and Hadley with us. The day we said forever was the beginning. Which is why I wanted to do something special for you"he took the blindfold off
Sally saw the hospital rooftop decorated in lights and every holiday decorations. Sally smiled with tears in her eyes
"Happy Anniversary Baby" he kissed her shoulder
"How did .. how did you pull this off"she turned around
"Elena"he smiled "She wasn't kidding when she said she knew all the secret hiding spots"he laughed.
He brought her over to the table that was set up with candles
"With the help of Nick we set this up" he rubbed her shoulders as he sat down across from her
"I'm sorry I forgot" she felt bad
He took her hand "Don't be, you had good reason" he said
Sally looked at all the decorations "So this our thing decorate with everything"she pointed at the New Years decorations "But we don't do that one, so why start now"
"I know we don't" he was pouring sparkling cider "But I thought with Hadley getting better and this new baby on the way.. it's something to look forward to in the new year" he said "So I want to toast all the good we have coming our way"
Sally had tears in her eyes
Adam took her hands in his "Sally Spectra Newman going through life with you for the past six years has made me fall in love with even more. The vows we said "for better or worse" we dealt with a lot but over came it. And the part with the whole sickness and in health part is effecting our daughter.. we have become stronger. We are almost at that finish line. Sal, I wouldn't want to do this with out you by my side"
"Ditto" she smiled
"You are my best friend"he kissed her hand "You are best thing that's ever happened to me, and I love you so much for everything you do Sal, you are the best mom and I'm so glad my kids.. my girls are yours.. and you bringing another to us" he said
"You think it's a girl"she asked
"I'm not sure but I wouldn't be surprised if it is... besides I love being girl dad" he smiled
Sally placed her hand on her bump "Right now it looks like a food baby" she giggled
"You know when this all over, we are going somewhere to reconnect all of us"he said
"Cali or Kansas"Sally asked taking a sip of her drink
"We will let the girls decide"he suggested
"Oh great if we let them... we will be taking separate vacations" Sally rolled her eyes and laughed "So reconnecting won't happen"
Sally smiled "Adam Newman, I'm so glad I walked into your office and met you that day. I promise our next anniversary I'll remember and I'll do something so extravagant for you" she said
Adam pulled her over to sit on his lap
"I don't need anything, your love is everything I could ever want. You're happiness is gift enough"
"Ya, but it's you and our kids that make me so happy.. you deserve to be spoiled and loved too"
"For me"he moved her hair off her neck "All I need is to see my girls smile"
Sally began to kiss his neck moving up to his ear
"Oh this is good too" he said
Sally pulled away "I figured that would work" she said then connecting their lips again
