"To me it's my worst nightmare"

      They were still sitting on the beach.Adam staring the pregnancy test processing what Sally just told him
"How.."he started "I know how .. I mean when"he asked
"Our reunion"she said grabbing her legs and bringing them to her chest
"Of course"he smiled he look at her "Sal, we can handle this if this is why you are worried about"he told her
"The girls are close in age and now Wes and this baby will be"he added
"Adam fifteen months apart is a big difference then thirteen month"she said "Wes is barely four months old"she stood up
Adam stood up and grabbed her by the waist
"Baby look at me"he searched for her eye contact
Sally met his eyes but he could see she was scared
"Baby why are freaking about this.. yes it's a shock we didn't plan on this"
"No we didn't I thought Wes was gonna be our last... he is supposed to be OUR LAST"she said
"I know but this.."he placed his hand on her stomach "This baby was created from our love it's so powerful"he had tears in her eyes
Sally started crying "I can't do this now"she broke away from him
Sally began to walk away, Adam walked
"Sally come back don't walk away from this" he yelled
Bentley followed Sally leaving him puzzled

    When Adam came back he saw the girls were up and in the kitchen with Connor. He saw Sally on the couch cuddling Wes
Mazie ran up to her dad before he could go into the living room with Sally
"Daddy, Connor said my new school has a dance team isn't that cool" she said jumping up and down
Adam broke his eye contact away from Sally and focused on Mazie
"Ya super cool Mazie Moo"he smiled cupping her face then kissed her head "Are you finished with breakfast"he asked
"Yep"she said as she popped the p sound
"Good can you go get ready for the day then please"
"Sure daddy"she skipped away
"Thanks Maz"he said softly watching her go upstairs
Adam gave Connor a signal
Connor gathers Haddie and Eden's dishes "You know what let's also get ready for the day" he told them putting the dishes in the sink
Adam nodded as they all went passed by. He then went over to Sally and sat down but on the other end
"Sally you gotta talk to me, you can't just tell me your pregnant then run away on me. What are you thinking about"
"You don't want to know that"she said quietly
Adam placed his arm against the back of the couch leaning in a little
"Yes I do"he replied
"Wes was our last baby .... we never discussed another"
"I know but this is one of those great surprises"
"Maybe to you Adam"she paused"Not to me"she finally looked up at him
"To me it's my worst nightmare"
Adam scooted closer "Why is that"he asked softly
Sally looked at Wes "First I had that complication after his birth"
"I know and it was scary .. what else"he rubbed her arm
"I'm just now getting to a good place with him and with myself. I can't go through all this again ...I can't risk it"she cried
Adam thought for a moment before speaking
"Okay what if you talk to your therapist maybe she can help"he suggested
"Even if she could... there's something else,something I'm so worried about" she said
"Tell me .."he said
Just then Eden came down the stairs. Sally quickly got up to hide herself from crying. Eden came up to Adam holding a piece of paper
"Whatcha got bug"Adam asked
"I drew Wyatt a picture for when I go say sorry"she showed him
Adam smiled "That's thoughtful"he looked at it
"Can we go see him.. can I go apologize"she asked
Adam looked over at Sally who was swaying with Wes in her arms she wasn't paying attention to him
"Sure, daddy will take you over" he handed her the picture back
"Okay I'll go get my shoes on" she said running out
Adam stood up and went over to Sally "Do you want to come or.."
"No I'll stay here"she told him leaving the room too

    Adam and Eden just left, Sally put Wes down for his nap. She leaned against the railing of the crib stroking his face
"Oh Wes, I don't know what to do. How do I feel better about this" tears falling down her cheeks "I can't risk going back to that place..it will be worse because mommy will two little babies who would need her .. " she laid her head on the railing "I don't want to disappoint daddy... he seemed so happy... I'd love to be happy about this I do"
Sally saw he drifted off to sleep and kissed his head "Sweet dreams biscuit"she whispered
    Sally walked out of the room closing the door as Mazie and Haddie came up to her
"Mommy can Connie take us down to the beach to fly kites"Mazie asked
Sally smiled "Sure"
Connor looked over at her "Are you sure I can wait for dad to get home"
"No it's okay go ahead" she kissed the girls cheeks "Put sunscreen on please"she hollered

       Adam and Eden stood in Wyatt's office.She handed him her picture
"I'm sorry Mr. Wyatt I should have never pushed you. It was wrong" she told him
Wyatt bent down at her level "That's alright Eden"he looked at the picture "And this picture it's very cute .. is that a puppy" he pointed
Eden nodded "Holding an "I'm sorry" sign" she told him
"That's awesome" he placed it on his desk then looked back at her "I know I just met you Eden but I can tell you are so much like your dad here"he looked up at Adam "Being very protective of your mommy" he said
Eden smiled
"But you also have that spark in you that's totally your mommy" he added
Adam placed his hands on Eden's shoulders pull her into him looking down "That's our Eden the perfect mix of both of us"he tapped her chin
"Now if it's okay with your daddy I have some lollipops in my desk you can pick one"
"I can't have desserts for a WHOLE week"she told him stretching her arms out all dramatic
Adam chuckled "I think since you apologized so well you can have it"Adam told her "But the punishment still stands"he added
Wyatt held out the bin so she could pick
"Thank you Mr. Wyatt"
"You are welcome" he smiled
"Hey Eddy can you give daddy a minute with Wyatt. You can go have your lollipop while you wait" he said
Eden nodded and went to the door
"Hey Eden there's a lady with short brown hair named Annie she might have some paper and crayons you can borrow" he told her
She smiled then left
Adam turned back to Wyatt "Thanks for letting us stop by"
"No problem" he crossed his arms
"We were flabbergasted at what she did yesterday"
"Ah kids are  protective I was a stranger to her no worries" he told him
Adam looked down "We know now why she did it.. she over heard part of an argument between Sally and her sister"
"Oh no"he said
"I know. She doesn't know anything about what happened with Sally. But she heard with you and Sally Eden thought you were taking her mother away from us"
"Poor thing"Wyatt said leaning against the desk
Adam glanced at the window and saw her coloring on the chair in the lobby "You know as mad as I was at her for pushing you.. I just.."Adam stopped
"You can't blame her" he finished
"No. You know we just need break from  all this"
"Maybe moving here is going to give that to you both"he told him
Adam nodded
                      **************
       Adam was driving back home Eden was in the back seat kicking her feet looking out the window. Adam looked at her through the rear view mirror
"Daddy is so proud of you, that was a big girl thing to do.. to apologize" he told her
Eden smiled "I'm glad mommy isn't leaving us and getting a new family and new baby"
Adam looked confused "A new baby" he got nervous "Eddy what are you talking about"
"A girl at camp said she got a new daddy and was getting a new brother. I didn't want that to happen I don't want mommy to get a new daddy"
"Oh bug" he gave her a smile "Yes some times people start new families for a lot of different reasons and it's okay but that's not happening to us I promise sweetie"
Eden smiled back and nodded

When they got home Adam brought Eden down to the beach with the rest of them. He then came and stood at the door he took a deep breath before entering Bentley greeted him
"Hey boy where's mommy huh"he asked
Bentley lead him upstairs, Adam checked in on Wes who was still napping. He then continued to follow Bentley who brought him to their bathroom
Adam came in and saw Sally frantically looking at pregnancy tests on the counter
"Sally what .. what are you doing" he came closer
"I got to thinking maybe I read it wrong or it was a faulty test.. I thought it could be mistake" she said quickly
"Okay"he looked down "How many did you take" he asked
"Six.."she grabbed them "It's not a mistake Adam"she became hysterical "They are all posi...tive"she was shaking "I can't be pregnant Adam I can't"
Adam pulled Sally by the waist close to him "Baby you got breath for me okay.You are having panic attack"he cupped her face "It's okay... I got you"
"It's gonna be like last time ... I can't do it again" she cried harder
Adam held her and brought them down to the ground . He had her laying in between his legs and wrapped his arms around her. Sally had her head on his chest. He took the tests she was holding and set the on the ground. Sally gripped his arm. Adam pressed his lips on her head as he listened to her sobs

Adam carried her to them bed after she finally cried herself into a sleepy state. He gently laid her in bed and watched as she adjusted herself but still stayed asleep
"Oh Sal"he said quietly as he rubbed her hair "It's gonna be okay"he went to walk away
Adam felt Sally grab his hand, he looked back she had her eyes closed still
"Adam please stay"she muttered
Adam squeezed her hand "I'm not going anywhere" he kissed her hand and knelt beside "I'm right right for you" he whispered as he saw her relax as he caressed her cheek
