"I just want to be Wesley's mom"

  Sally sat on the plane looking out the window, Wes asleep on her chest in his carrier. She looked down at him watching him sleep in her arms made her heart melt a little
"Daddy probably knows we left by now"she said softly "I just want to connect with you .. like he does"
Wes began to stir and cry, this panicked Sally. She tried calming him and herself but it wasn't working
A young woman sitting next to her looked over. Sally looked back
"I'm so sorry" she apologized
"No it's fine, would you like some help" she offered and gestured to hold him for her
Sally looked worried
"I promise I'll give the baby back" she smiled
Sally reluctantly handed Wes to her and smiled
"Oh what's happening, are you not a fan of flying"she asked him. She looked at Sally "Do you have a bottle, it could help with the pressure in his ears"she suggested
Sally nodded and pulled one out of the diaper bag and handed it her
"I'll feed him, you try and rest.. I'm Annie by the way"she smiled
"I'm Sally and that is Wes"she looked at him
"Nice to meet you"she looked down at Wes "And nice to meet you"
Sally laid her head back and watched Annie with Wes. His hand resting on her bracelet

  Adam was rereading the letter still taking in what he was informed by his wife. Elena took the letter from him trying understand why he was so emotional
"I don't understand why would she leave, why leave with Wes. When she knew I was coming" she said "This doesn't make any sense"
"I don't .. I don't know"Adam was shaking
"This sounds like she wanted me to find her gone.. this was her plan Adam. But why
Adam went over to the mantle and looked at the pictures
"She was planning on leaving me all a long" he said staring at their wedding picture
"Why would say that Adam, Sally loves you" she told him
Adam looked back at Elena "Because she's hasn't been my Sally since Wes."he came over and sat down "And last night everything came crashing down"he said
"What do you mean "she asked
"Yesterday she saw me talking to Sharon about how worried I was for her. Elena Sally's been struggling with connecting with Wes and she hid from me for couple weeks. And Sharon seems to think Sally's suffering from postpartum depression"he told her
"Oh no" she came up to him "I sensed something off after he was born.. we both did. But I never thought.."
Adam nodded "Neither did I. It started when she couldn't breast feed him and when she finally told me. I thought things would get better .. but clearly something broke"he began to get upset "I should be furious with her... she took my son.. I don't even know where.But I am mad at myself for not seeing the signs of her struggle sooner"
"Adam, you know Wes is safe" she told him softly
"But is Sally" he looked at her

    Annie handed Wes back to Sally, he stayed asleep in her arms
"He is adorable" Annie said
"Thanks"Sally said placing his pacifier in his mouth
"So what brings you to California"Annie asked "Visiting family"
Sally shook her head "Just a getaway with my son" she said as she fought the tears from falling
Annie was concerned but didn't want to press her on it

  Adam was on his laptop frantically searching things. Elena came over to him
"Adam what are you doing" she asked
"Finding out where my wife is, she had to leave some bread crumbs to where they are"he said
"She asked you not to find her..."
"Ya well she also told me she was okay"he shook the letter in the air "Clearly this tells me otherwise"
"All am trying to say is. Give her some time. She may reach out.She is vulnerable right and if you do this you could scare her even more then she already is"
Adam stared at the laptop and cried "I just want my wife, I want my son home. And I want to help her"
"I know you do, because you love her and that's hurting you more"
"You didn't hear her last night .. the things she said .. that wasn't my Sally. And I should have done something right then and there.. I should have taken Wes to work"
"Why"she asked
"I don't know.."he cover his face with his hands
"You know going over the what ifs isn't gonna help"
"She told me she was gonna call her therapist.. was that a lie"he looked over at Elena
"I can't answer that. Maybe that's where she went to get help. I'll tell you what I'll connect a few therapists I know and see if I can find out. Maybe she'll call me who knows"she tried to reassure him
Adam went over to a picture of Wes, tears hitting the frame

   Sally was waiting at the baggage claim bouncing Wes in her arms
"Pretty soon Wes, mommy will show you her happy place"she leaned her head on his. Sally then looked over and saw Annie
Sally walked over to her "Annie I just wanted to say thank you for helping me.. us" she said looking at Wes
"No problem, traveling mothers need some help sometimes" she smiled at Wes "And you were such a good baby yes you were"she told him
"Sally?"a voice was heard
Sally looked up and was shocked "Wyatt" she gasped
Annie looked between both him and her "You two know each other"she asked
"Yes, Annie this was the girl I told you about this is Sally"
"You're the Sally"she asked her
Sally looked away "Well I don't know how I should feel about that .. but how do you two know each other are you together" Sally asked
"No not like that" Wyatt said "She works for my dad, I offered to pick her up"he looked back at Sally "So what are you doing hear" he asked
"A break" she said looking at her bags
Wyatt noticed something off with her he could tell by her eyes that she wasn't okay
"Why don't I drop you off, where you staying" he asked
"We have a house here"she told him
"Oh so Adam's here" he looked around for him
"No it's just me and Wes here" she looked at Wes
"Let me take you there, I'm dropping Annie at Spencer's
Sally just nodded as he took her bags

Wyatt was driving to Sally's house. The ride was quite he would glance in the rear view mirror at her. Sally was looking out the window
"So how long you hear for" he asked
"As long as it takes"she said nothing looking away from the window
"So is Adam .. it's still Adam" he said trying to get her to laugh
Sally did give him a smile "His good, he went back to work. Since having this one"she looked at him
"So you had another.. congratulations"
"Thanks" she said playing with Wes's hand
Wyatt pulled into Sally's driveway. A sense of relief came over Sally
"Wow this is a beautiful place" he admired it "I'm kind of jealous"he chuckled
"Ya Adam found a beautiful place.. true happiness"she said getting out of the car
Sally walked into the house, they haven't had it long but she felt peace here
"This is home for little bit" she whispered to him
Wyatt walked in with her bags and watching her walk around
"Hey, why don't you go lay him down in his room.. it's been a long day for him and you, and in the meantime I'll uncover your furniture for you" he told her
Sally nodded and went upstairs

Sally stood in the doorway of Wes's room looking around and landing on him sleeping
"I hope mommy didn't make a mistake coming here"she walked up to his crib she lean against the crib "Sleep my Wes"she said softly stroking his face
Sally came back downstairs to Wyatt folding the sheets. She needed answers
"Why are doing this"she asked
"Doing what"he asked
"Acting like we are friends"she said
"Well we are Sally despite what happened"he said
"After what I did you mean .. it's okay. But why would you even consider helping me"
"Because that wasn't the Sally I knew and loved"he told her
Sally crossed her arms and nodded
"Neither is this version standing in front of me "he leaned in
"What"Sally looked at him surprisingly
"Something is going on with you .. I could tell in the airport Sally."
Sally sat on the couch and sighed
"Sally, I know I'm probably not the best person to talk to, but there had to be reason we ran into each other" he said "I know I would kick myself if I didn't try to make sure you were okay"
"I can't bond with my son" she finally said "I have no connection with him Wyatt" she cried
Wyatt came over and sat beside her afraid to say anything
"I gave birth to that baby, I felt him kick me the whole time and .. "her voice broke "and now he feels like stranger" she looked at him with tears in her eyes "How awful is that"
"It's not"he said softly and took her hand "Sally it's gonna be okay"
"If I can't bond with him.. if I can't connect.. how is Adam gonna forgive me how will he love me"
"Can I ask you something"Wyatt said
Sally nodded wiping her tears
"What is stopping you from connecting with him" he asked
"Nothing.. I want to.. I want to so badly but I can't"she stood up "Adam has this bond with him, I don't. Heck Annie could calm him down on the plane"
"He probably could sense your anxiety I wouldn't take that to heart Sally"Wyatt told her
"The ocean got him to sleep"she said looking out the window
"You are gonna find something that helps you bond with him"he told her
"Sharon Newman thinks I have postpartum depression"she said sounded annoyed as she came back over to him "I was reading about it on the plane"she told him
"I heard that's common. I know it's seems scary but it doesn't define you as mother Sally"
"I just want to be Wesley's mom and love him like I did with my girls" she was hysterical "We wanted a boy so badly and I'm letting him down"
Wyatt took her in his arms and held her as she broke down. Seeing her in so much pain broke his heart "You are his mother Sally" he whispered

Adam stood in Wes's empty room looking around at all his things. He peered into his crib and picked up the giraffe and held it close. He went to the rocking chair and began to cry missing both Sally and Wes
"Sally, please come home. Wes daddy loves you so much"he said
He eventually drifted off to sleep in the chair

Wyatt covered Sally up with a blanket and left her a note. As he was writing her phone lite up and he saw the notification from Adam. Wyatt read what was on screen and saw how worried he was and how much he loved her
Wyatt glanced at her curled up on the couch the tearstained face he knew in that moment what he needed to do for her.. he took down Adam's number then left
