"I wish to make more memories like this"

It was the morning of New Year's Eve and Adam and Sally were up early laying on the couch together enjoying the peace and quiet. Sally had her legs resting on Adam's lap, he was slowly massaging them with one hand as he read the paper with the other
Sally was sipping her tea and began laughing at him. He looked over
"What is so funny" he asked
"I think you are the only person in Genoa City who actually reads the physical paper, do you get special perks for keeping them in business" she teased him still drinking
"There is no feeling like holding the paper in your hands... it's better than staring at a screen"he rustled with it a little "And you don't hear me tease you when you read those romance novels"he gave her a look
"Fine" she pulled her legs off his lap "But I wasn't teasing"she playfully pouted "I actually think it's kind of sexy, just put a tie on and you can be a character"
"What's so sexy about that" he gave her a confusing look
"Because it's all they were wearing" she smirked and raised her eyebrow knowing she got him hooked
Adam threw the paper away and pulled her back to him. Sally started giggling
"Now tell me what happens next in these romance novels"he sad ran his hand along her side
"Oh I think you know Mr. Newman" she said softly
"How would I know, I don't read those books" he said
Sally gestured to her bump "Oh you know"she chuckled
Adam lowered them down on the couch but before he could kiss her Bentley jumped up and in between them
"Can I help you sir"Adam said pulling away
Bentley just made his way on to Sally, Adam leaned back on the couch and groaned
"Oh Benny were you feeling left out"Sally said in a baby voice "I'm sorry, if I promise to feed you after will you let Daddy have some morning fun first" she asked petting him
"Like he understands..."Adam started saying but didn't finish because Bentley jumped off and ran to the kitchen
"You were saying" she said
"Oh I love you" he said coming back and hovering over her

   They didn't get to far because the girls woke up and came running down the stairs
"Mommy I'm hungry"Mazie said rubbing her sleepy eyes
"Can we have cookies for breakfast"Haddie asked
Eden came up next to her sisters "Daddy what were you doing to Mama"she asked
"Girls, it's winter break that means you get to sleep in"Adam sat up "And it's .."he looked at his watch "8:30"he groaned
Sally giggled and got up "Come on let's get some breakfast"she said looking at Haddie "And Hadley no we can not have cookies for breakfast, that's only a Christmas  morning thing"she told her as she guided her into the kitchen
Adam got up and picked up Eden following them
"But Daddy what were you and Mama doing"she asked wrapping her arms around his next
"Loving each other Bug" he just said

   As they were all eating they talked about the day
"So are we having a party"Mazie asked as she ate
"Party ... what party"Adam asked confused
"New Years Eve party. My friends from dance were talking about how they were having them and they have balloons and poppers and snacks. One even has a contest with her brother to see who can stay up to see the ball drop.. where it drops from I don't know" Mazie shrugged
Adam and Sally both chuckled at her confusion
"We normally don't have one Mazie Moo"Adam said
"But Mommy will go to the store and pick up some things"Sally interrupted Adam "Let me go get dress" she added frantically getting up and heading upstairs
"Girls finish eating then put your bowls in the sink please"Adam instructed them and then followed Sally to check on her

Adam found Sally in their running getting dressed in a hurry
"Sal, what happened down there. Are you okay"he asked
"I need to go get supplies so we can have a party"she quickly went over to her closet
"Okay, but why do you seem so upset"he asked
Sally stopped and stood with her back facing Adam "Because I failed our daughters Adam.I'm probably the only mother who doesn't throw a party for New Year's Eve" she cried
"Come here" he asked softly reaching for her hand
Sally turned around and placed her hand in his. He lead them over to the bed and sat down
"First of all you did not fail our girls, you could never" he started stroking her cheek "It's her little friend's fault" he joked
Sally chuckled as she was crying
"You know we should have done something.. I mean it's special to us so should've included them and did something special but"
"It's our day"she added softly
Adam smiled and kissed her cheek
"I should go before everything is gone" she went to get up
"I want to go with you"he asked
"You can't.. you have to stay with the girls. Hadley still needs to be semi isolated"she told him
"We can bring them to the ranch. Victor and Nikki are on the list of people she's allowed to be with her
Sally smiled "Sure"

They spent a couple hours shopping. Then decided to take a quick stroll in the park
"I'm surprised we found everything"Adam said walking with is arm around her waist
"I know what are people not celebrating here" she chuckled leaning into him
They sat down on the bench. Sally looked over and watched Adam for a second
"Adam what's on your mind"she asked
"Nothing just thinking how it's nice spending time with you... without interruptions from the kids and our dog"he said
Sally chuckled "I like it too"she leaned on him "With little one coming our time alone will be decrease for a bit" she said
Adam looked at her "You doing okay"he gestured to the bump
"Yes, we are good" she said stroking it
"We should head home so we can set up before picking up the girls to surprise them" he sighed taking her hand

Adam was on the ladder trying to hang up the sign, while Sally set up the hats and the noise makers. The banner fell and hit Adam in the head Sally lost it and laughed
"You know I can help you" she said covering her face as she continued to laugh
Adam got it to stay and came off the ladder "No I will not have my pregnant wife on a ladder"he said pulling her into him and held her
"Adam please don't be so over protective"she said playing with his shirt
"I'll try not too"he said softly then kissed her forehead "Should we make a bet to see which one of the girls can make it to midnight"he asked
"No because I will lose" she chuckled looking at him
"Well you do have a good excuse" he said stroking her bump
"Oh this isn't on little one, since becoming a mom the night life has been non existent"
"Well I'm sorry about that"he said swaying back and forth
"I'm not"she smiled and kissed him
Adam deepened the kiss and cupped her face "How much time do we have"he asked still kissing her
"Why"she leaned her head back as he went to her neck
"I want to finish what we tried to do this morning"he asked
"If you make it quick" she told him smirking

Adam came back from picking up the girls, Adam was carrying Haddie. Sally met them outside
"Hello my loves"she said "Are you ready to see your surprise"
"Yes"Mazie and Eden jumped up and down as Haddie threw her hand in the air
"Let's go in then, it's cold out"she waved them in
Once the girls saw the living room decked out in streamers and balloons. Their eyes lit up. Adam set Haddie down so she could go over with her sisters. He then wrapped his arms around Sally and watched them
"This is so cool"Mazie said all excited "Thank you" she came over and hugged Sally
"I'm so happy you love it baby"she kissed the top of her head
"Hey Daddy helped too" Adam said feeling left out
Mazie pulled out of the hug and giggled then hugged Adam
"Now go clean up so we can make Daddy's famous pizzas"Sally told them
All the girls ran up the stairs. Adam took Sally's hand and they headed into the kitchen
"So do you want to tell what happened at the ranch"Sally asked
"What makes you think something happened" Adam tried to play it off
Sally came closer and cupped his face "Because I know you" she said softly "Did Victor say something"she asked
"I promise I'll tell you tomorrow" he moved away from her to get the stuff for the pizza
"So something did happen"she sounded concerned "Please tell now" she gestured for him to come sit with her
Adam reluctantly came over and sat on the stool neck to her
"Okay.."he paused "Victor wants to pay for Hadley's medical bills"she told her
Sally stared looking confused "And .."
"Sally, did you not hear what I just said"he asked
"Yes.. but I don't see why you are so frazzled"
"You know him Sally, he does something like this .. and then uses it as leverage for something"
Sally took his hand "Hey,I know why you are feeling this way it's hard to think something isn't going happen when you know what his pattern is" she said "We will discuss this and decide"she told him
They heard the girls coming
"Right now you need to put on your chef hat"she smiled as she saw her girls
Adam turned in the stool to face them "Mazie, Haddie and Eden are you ready to make Daddy's famous pizzas" he asked as he clapped his hands
They nodded
Sally sat their watching Adam goof off with his girls

Once Adam put the pizzas in the oven he turned and looked at them
"Girls why don't you go get ready for our par..ty " he said dancing
They all got off the stools and went to their rooms. Sally went to follow them but Adam grabbed her by her wrist to stop her
"And where do you think you are going" he asked
"To go get ready" she pointed to the stairs
Adam shook his head "You don't need to .. you are already beautiful" he wrapped his hands around him
"Well thank you for that. But while you were gone I had an idea to surprise you with" she quickly kissed his cheek then left

  Sally got to her bedroom she was surprised to see what was happening
"Adam, can you come here" she called out
It didn't take him long to be up there
"What .. what are you okay" he asked out of breath
"I'm fine...there's just something you should see"she turned him to face the doorway
Adam got tears in his eyes when he saw his little girl "Eden what are you doing" he asked
"Getting ready for the party"she said standing there in one of Sally's dresses
Sally and Adam walked in to the room smiling
"Mama always wears a fancy dress for parties and I don't have any" she told them
Adam knelt down in front of her "That's because you're still a little girl. But you do look beautiful Bug..just like Mama"he kissed her cheek "Daddy is not ready for you to grow up just yet" he said.
"Eden Rain how did you even get this dress down" Sally asked
Eden shrugged her shoulders and looked away from the closet
"Just like Daddy Mama isn't ready for her baby to grow up yet" she said moving a piece of hair away from Eden's face
"Right"Adam chuckled "We will never be ready" he added
"But Mama has the perfect dress for the party.. if you'd like to wear it. Then you can help Mama surprise Daddy"she winked
"What am I supposed to do"Adam asked
"Go get the pizzas out of the oven"Sally said pushing him out the door. Then looked back at Eden. They both giggled

A little while later Sally and Eden came down the stairs holding hands. Adam had a huge smile on his face when he saw his beautiful girls
"Daddy, do you like this dress Mama found.. it twirls" Eden said as she spun around
"Yes I do this dress Daddy can handle"he told her taking her hand spinning her in a circle
Adam then laid eyes on Sally and realized what she was wearing "Sally is that?" he asked
Sally smiled and looked down "The dress you bought me when you proposed"she looked up at him "Yes it is..it seemed fitting to wear it don't you think" she asked
Adam came up to her "You .. look .. stunning" he said
"You are just being nice .. you know with it only one baby my bump barely fits in this dress"she said all embarrassed
"Stop it"he kissed her lips "You made this night so special Sal.. seeing you in this dress brings me back to that day"
"The day that began this amazing life"she said wrapping her arms around his neck and kissed him
This caused all the girls to giggle, they pulled away and laughed
"Are my girls ready to get this New Year's party started"Adam said playing the music

After they partied they were all laying on the couch. Mazie was curled up next to Adam. Haddie was laying next to Sally, Eden was in between Adam and Sally with Eden's head on Adam's arm
"It's almost 10:30 and they are crashing"Adam said looking at his watch , then at Sally
"You know we can tell them it's midnight"Sally sounded exhausted leaning her head back again the couch
"Sally Newman you actually want to start the new year off by lying to our children"he said in shock
"No, but I just want to go to bed" she groaned and laughed playing with Haddie's hair
"I have an idea how about we say one thing we wish to happen in this new year and then after Daddy will release the balloons" he suggested
Sally smiled "I like that" she said
They all got up and gathered under the balloons
"How about we start with Eddy" Adam said looking at her "Bug, what's one thing you wish to happen this year" he asked
"To ride a horse like Haddie" she said
Sally and Adam smiled
"How about you Mazie"he asked
"I want a brother" she said
"We have a brother Connie"Eden said
Adam chuckled and kissed her head
Sally smiled at her bump "If this baby isn't .. I hope you aren't disappointed Maz"she then looked at Haddie "What about you Bean"
"I want to play soccer again" she said all quietly and looked up at her mom
Sally got tears in her eyes
"And it's going to happen Bean"Adam smiled at he, he reached over and took Sally's hand "What about you Mommy"
Sally looked around at her family and smiled "I wish to make more memories like this"she said "How about you" she asked him
"Same"he said
"Daddy you can't have the same as Mommy"Mazie said
Sally laughed "Oh your girl is right, what's really your wish"
"Fine, I wish for this baby to be a lot like you"he said
Sally leaned over and lightly kissed him
Adam released the balloons and they fell around them. The girls started giggling and jumping
Adam and Sally wrapped their arms around each other
"Saying yes to you seven years ago was the decision I made" she smiled at him "Happy New Year Adam" she whispered
"Happy New Year Sal" he said then kissed her "This is going to be the best year yet"
