"I think we have a new tradition"

Since Mazie and Hadley's birthday was a month before Sally's due date they decide instead of a party to give Sally a break they would give each of them a day they spend with just them and do one thing they wanted
Adam and Sally sat the girls down one morning so they could decide what they wanted to do
"So you two remember how we told you Mommy and I weren't doing a big party for you girls this year"Adam said
They both nodded
"I want to tell you, we promise to give you both a party next okay" Sally said trying to not get emotional "So Daddy and I will take you out this weekend, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday. Spending the day just the three of us. All we need to know is what you want to do" Sally smiled at them
Mazie and Haddie looked at each other
"Any ideas girls" Adam asked
"I want to go to the bookstore" Haddie said right away
"That sounds fun" Adam smiled "How about you Mazie Moo"
Mazie stayed silent
"It can be anything you want or something you like to do" Sally told her
"We can go make something or the arcade.. you love that place" Adam gave suggestions
"Can we go... paint something" she said softly
"We sure can Maz" Sally smiled
"So now the next thing we need to figure out is who goes first"Adam said Who wants to go first"
"Oh this was probably a bad idea having them choose"Sally jumped in
"Mazie can go"Haddie offered
Both Adam and Sally smiled at each other then at Haddie
"Very well then Mazie we'll take you out on Saturday and Haddie Sunday"Sally told them

It was Saturday, Sally and Adam were dropping Haddie and Eden off with Victor and Nikki
"Okay you two be good for Grandpa and Nana"Adam kissed them
"We will be back in a couple hours"Sally told them
"Enjoy your time with Mazie"Nikki smiled and waved to Mazie who was in the car
Sally gave the girls another hug, before going to the car
They got in and looked back at their girl
"You ready to spend time with Mommy and Daddy"Sally smiled
"Ready for some fun Mazie Moo"Adam asked
Mazie smiled and nodded
"What would you like to paint" Sally asked as Adam took Sally's hand as he began to drive
"I don't know yet" she told her

When they arrived at the painting studio. Mazie was looking around at all her options
"What about this Mazie, you can paint your own mug and your sisters won't be able to use it because it will be just your" Adam showed her
She shook her head and continued looking
"You're daughter so picky" Sally leaned in and whispered
"Well she gets its from you" he said nudged her
"I want to paint this" she pointed
Adam and Sally looked at her and saw she picked out a little bear figure
"A bear"Sally asked making sure
Mazie smiled and nodded
"Sounds good"Adam clapped
They then went over so she could pick what colors she wanted to paint it. Sally and Adam watched as she picked out three different blues
   As she began painting she was very particular on everything. She choose teal for the inner part of the ears and tummy. A light blue for the nose and blue for the body
Adam and Sally loved watching her concentrate. They tried offering to help but she brushed them off. Their little girl was so independent

  After they want and got some lunch after, Mazie's favorite pizza
"So Mazie are you excited for sleep away camp this summer"Adam asked
"Yep,Haddie is coming too...right"she asked
"Yes and so is Eden. You going to be okay sharing a room with both your sisters"Sally asked
"Yes, I need to be there for Eden since it will be her first time away" she told her as she took a bite
Adam began to chuckle "Mazie Moo, it's your first time away too"he informed her
"Ya but I'm the older sister"she stated
Adam went to tell her Haddie was born first but Sally shook her head to stop him. She took his hand 
"Hey Maz, I was thinking if you had to what would you want to name this baby"Sally asked smiling
Mazie tapped her chin and thought for a second "Um Quinn"
Adam and Sally looked at one another
"We could use it for a boy or a girl"Adam stated
"We could.., but I'm not sure it flows with our last name" Sally said to him
"We don't need a girls name because it's gonna be a boy" Mazie said as she bit into her fry
Sally took a deep breath "Maz we talked about this, we don't know what gender this  baby is going be, most likely it you might be getting another sister" she told her
"I know ... I just feel like it's a brother"she smiled
"Okay baby" Sally said deciding to let it go, she pulled her close and kissed her head "We love you Mazie Hope" she said leaning her head against Mazie's
"We sure do.." Adam tapped her nose
"You and your sister made me a mom and I couldn't be happier" she kissed her

A little bit later they went to pick up the girls. Victor was playing or attempting to play chess with Eden, while Nikki was teaching Hadley to play piano. The three of them stood in the doorway watching for bit. Sally then needed to sit so she walked over to the couch and sighed. Nikki took notice
"Hello you guys" she looked over at Sally "You okay Hon"
Sally looked over and nodded "Yes" she said a little out of breath "The baby just took all my energy all of a sudden " she said rubbing circles on her stomach
Eden came over "Since I have to come back tomorrow.. can I sleep over"
Sally looked over at Adam "It's up to Daddy"she said
"Only if it's okay with Grandpa and Nana"he said
"Of course it's okay"Nikki said softly
"Alright Daddy will bring clothes over for tomorrow.Mazie, Haddie do you want to sleep over too" he looked at both of them
They both shook their heads
"Can Mommy sleep over" Sally gave a small chuckle closing her eyes
Adam came over and helped Sally up, wrapping his arm around her
"Okay so we will drop Mazie off at noon" he told them
"Sounds good"Victor said

    They were kissing the girls goodnight. Sally was sitting on Mazie's bed while Adam was sitting with Haddie
"You two get some sleep, especially you Bean. We can't have our bookworm falling asleep on her day"Adam tickled her
"Hey Mommy" Mazie said
"Yes Maz" Sally said softly as she was stroking Mazie's  face
Mazie reached over and grabbed the bear she painted
"I didn't make this for me"she told her
"You didn't .. who did you make this for"she looked over at Adam confused
"I made it for the baby"she smiled handing it to her
Sally got tears in her eyes  "Oh Baby, are you sure"she asked
Mazie nodded
Sally hugged her "My sweet girl"she said "This is going to in a special place in the baby's nursery" she told her
Adam came over and gave Mazie a kiss on her head "We love you"he smiled
"Night girls" Sally said blowing them kissing before leaving their room

     The next morning the girls were getting ready to go upstairs. Sally was dressed and feeding Bentley.As she bent over she felt a Braxton hicks contraction
"Ah" she winced, she leaned again the counter breathing through it
Adam walked in and saw her and rushed over
"Sally.., Sally are you okay"he asked
"These stupid Braxton hicks contractions" she told him "I don't know why my body is doing this .. I know what to expect it's not my first baby"she moaned
"What can I do" he asked
"Can I hold on to you til it passes"
Adam didn't waste time he grabbed her, he felt her grip onto his shirt, he rubbed circles on her back
"I got you.. I got you"he whispered
Once it passed she let go and relaxed
"Are you up to going today"he asked caressing her cheek
"Yes, I'm not disappointing our daughter Adam. I already told them no party this year, I can't cancel Hadley's day when Mazie got hers"she shook her head
Adam nodded " Okay, you just got to promise me if anything happens you tell me"
Sally nodded and lightly kissed him

    Watching their little girl get a huge smile on her face when they were heading into the bookstore holding her hand
"You may get three books Bean"Adam told her
"Why not seven .. for the age I'm turning" she smiled as she was negotiating
Sally started laughing "She gets that from you"she told Adam
"Bean, not seven I'm sorry but the most you can get is four okay" he said
"But Daddy or I need to see the book first"Sally added
Adam handed Hadley a basket
"Okay"she said skipping over
They watched her browse all the books. Picking each one looking at the front then the back
"Can I get this one"she asked showing Sally mystery book
Sally nodded
Hadley put it in her basket then continued to look
"Ooh this one looks interesting Haddie
the princess saves the castle without a prince" he read to her
Haddie shook her head and went on her way
"You know our girl, she's picky about her books. They need to speak to her"she reminded him as she intertwined their hands together
"That's right" he chuckled
Haddie skipped over to them "I want to get this one" she said
"Hadley you already have that one" Sally told her
"But the baby doesn't" she said looking at again
They both smiled at her
"You want to get this for the baby"Adam asked
Haddie nodded
"Why not just give them .."Adam started to say, Sally pulled him to stop. He nodded remember she loves her books she'll never give them up
"You may get that sweetheart"Adam told her
Just then Sally leaned into Adam and quietly moaned
"Another contraction"he whispered
Sally nodded into him breathing though it "I'm okay.."she paused gripping his hand "I do need water, so we should leave soon"she told him
Adam kissed her forehead "Of course" he then looked at Haddie "Bean five more minutes. Then we can go get something to eat" he told her
"I'm good with these" she held up her basket
"Are you sure Hadley "Sally said loosing her grip on Adam
"Yep"she said

After they left the bookstore they went to Society so Haddie could get her favorite noodles
"Did you have fun today"Sally asked
"Yes.. Can we read one of my books tonight before bed" she asked sipping on her lemonade
"Of course" Adam smiled
"Do you know why I love to read" Hadley started saying
"You love going on all those cool adventures" Adam questioned
"Well ya but also it help me forget I was sick sometimes" she looked at them "I loved when you both would read to me"
Sally began to cry, she had a feeling before but hearing her little girl say it broke her heart
"Ya reading is a good escape, mommy used to do it too. I love that one of my girls found the love of reading"she kissed her
"Hey Bean,we asked Mazie yesterday.. If you could name the baby what would you name it" Adam asked
"Flynn or Araya"she said
"Those are nice names"Sally said "I do like Araya" Sally added
"Me too" Adam smiled
Haddie came over to Adam and fed him a noodle, they ate it like Lady and the Tramp and once she got close to him . Adam pulled her on his lap and gave her a bunch of kisses causing her to giggle "We love you  Hadley Siena" he said
"So much" Sally said softly reaching for hug

As they were driving home, Adam had his hand resting on Sally's thigh her hand on his
"Did you girls have fun on each of your birthday outings"Sally asked
"Yes.. Can we do it again next year"Mazie asked
"What a day with us for your birthdays"Adam asked them looking through the rear view mirror
"Ya we don't get you to ourselves a lot"
Sally looked over at Adam and smiled
"Of course we can. And we will try to do more one on one with you girls"Sally told them
"I want my own day with Mama and Daddy " Eden butted in
"It's not your birthday Eddy"Mazie stated
"I know but I still want my own day" she said
"I think we have a new tradition"Adam smiled at them then back at Sally
"I believe we do" Sally smiled squeezing his hand
