Our Love Always Finds A Way

"That,if it wasn't for Hadley I probably wouldn't have known about this baby"

  A few weeks have passed Sally was laying in the bed with Hadley who had just finished her round of chemo. This time really knocked her out. Adam came in holding a tea for Sally, he placed it on the table beside her and gently kissed her head. Hadley looked over at her Daddy
"Did you bring me anything" she asked giving him a small smile
Adam smiled back "As a matter of fact I did" he pulled out a popsicle "The nurses said these are a go to after treatment days"he told her
Hadley started to eat it, Sally just watched her stroking her hair
The doctor came in and smiled seeing her enjoying her treat "Hello Miss Hadley,I see you are enjoying one of my favorite flavors"she said
Adam looked over "Is there any news on finding a donor"he asked
The doctor sighed "That's why I am here"she looked at Hadley "Why don't we step outside for a second"she told them
Both Sally and Adam looked at each other worried. Sally then looked over at Hadley
"Mommy and Daddy will be right back"she kissed her forehead "You enjoy your popsicle"she said

    They stood out in the hallway, Adam took Sally's hand listening to what the doctor is telling them
"First of all I want you both to know I'm not giving up on finding a donor for Hadley, but as of right now no one has come up as match"
"How is this possible"Adam groaned
"But the longer she goes without out this.."
"Sally"the doctor grabbed her hand "I know this is overwhelming and scary. I'm hopeful someone soon will be a match"she gave her a smile
Sally just nodded, the doctor walked away
Adam came in from of Sally, Sally rested her head against his chest. He just held her
"Why is finding someone so hard Adam"she mumbled
"I don't know Sal, it shouldn't. I just thought someone in our family would have been" he rest his chin on her head

As Hadley was sleeping, Sally laid on the couch watching her, it's seems that's all she ever did.Adam came up and sat on the coffee table in front of her
"Look, I know this is probably the last thing on your mind"he was rubbing her  hand "But we should really make an appointment to get this little one checked out" he said softly
Sally placed her hand on her stomach and started crying a little
"Sal, what's the matter"he asked
"The reason I haven't brought it up is because I'm scared"she said
"Scared of what"he leaned in closer
"What if this baby isn't where it's supposed and we have to.."
Adam came over and lift her up and held her in his arms "All the more reason we get you checked out. I know the last time traumatized you and I wish I could erase that time from your mind. Don't you want to see this baby"he was running his fingers through her hair
Sally nodded into him "Yes I want to see our baby.I want them to tell me I can stay with Hadley too"
"Let's be real Sal, if I can't stop you I don't think a doctor would" he chuckled
Sally started laughing "I want this to be over, I want our girl to be better and home"she clung to him "So I can really celebrate this baby"
"Me too" he kissed the top of her head "We just got to find someone"
"Maybe you did"they heard a voice
"Connor, what are you doing here"Adam asked still holding Sally
"I know I just got to Paris, but do you actually think I'd stay away"he told them "My sister is sick and I want to see if I can help her"he said
Sally got up and walked over to him and hugged him "You are amazing" she told him

   Hadley woke up and her eyes went wide when she saw Connor sitting next to her
"Connor" she smiled
"Haddie" he hugged her
He got on the bed with her and started playing video games with her. Sally wrapped her arms around herself looking on, seeing a smile on her little girl's face warmed her heart. Sally looked over her shoulder and smiled at Adam, she came over to him
"You know since Connor is here, and she's more herself at them moment"she looked back for a second "What do think about us going to go see this baby" she whispered
"Are you sure" he asked
Sally smiled and nodded
Adam took her hand and went up to the end of Hadley's bed
"Hey Con, will you be alright staying with your sister for a bit. Sally and I need to go check something out"he told him
Connor nodded, Hadley didn't even notice them leaving

   They were in a room, Sally was sitting on the exam table and the nurse was writing down the information
"So this is your third pregnancy"he asked
Sally tensed up "No this is technically my fourth, the last one ended in an ectopic pregnancy"she looked down
"Oh, I'm so very sorry"she gave her a sympathetic smile
Adam who was standing next to her, he reach over and took her hand
"So it looks from the recent blood work, you found out when you were five weeks is that correct"she asked
"Yes, so I should be about eight or nine weeks"Sally took a deep breath
"Well we will confirm that for you today, let me go get the ultrasound machine, lie down and I'll be right back"she smiled then left
Sally laid down nervously
Adam took her hand again "You okay" he asked
Sally nodded "Ya, I just realized I need to see this baby"she looked over "Please don't let go"she gripped tightly
Adam smiled "What made think I was going to let go"he rubbed her hand
The nurse came back in "Are you both ready" she asked
They nodded 
    It didn't take long for the nurse to find the baby "There is your baby"she said softly
Adam and Sally looked over at the screen, tears already forming in Sally's eyes
"No matter how many times we do this, it still amazes me..how small they start out as" she said
"Same"he said and leaned down and  kissed her forehead. He rested his head on hers and looked over "There's our baby Sally, look it's where it's safely in your uterus where it's supposed to be" he whispered pointing at the screen
Sally cried "Thank God" she said
"And here's the heartbeat" she said turning the volume up "It's really strong" she added
Sally squeezed Adam's hand "I love you"

  They were still in the room by themselves, Sally was looking at the sonogram running her fingertips over it . Adam was on the stool in front of her, he placed his hand on her thigh
"What you thinking about" he asked
"That, if it wasn't for Hadley I probably wouldn't have known about this baby" she said looking up at him
"Think about it Adam, have I gotten sick at all like how I was with the girls"
Adam shook his head "No, and you were really sick with Eden. But Sal you'd eventually would have found out"he eyed her stomach
They both started laughing, she playfully hit him
Sally smiled "And now I know I can be with Hadley"
"I know that was what you truly wanted to hear, can you promise me something though"
"Depends"she chuckled
"I know you want to put Hadley first and you will, but I need you to take care of yourself and this baby okay. So I don't want you pushing yourself to always be here, even though your heart wants too"
"I'll try"she leaned over and kissed him
"Come on let's get back to Hadley" he helped her up

    Before they walked back in the room Sally stopped him
"Sally what is wrong" he asked
"We need to tell the girls what's going on with Hadley"she said "It's time they know"she added
"I agree, we need to tell them together. How about tonight"he asked
"Adam I don't want to leave Haddie" she said
"Sally I know I don't either, but you also need proper rest, you just sort of promised me you'd take care of yourself..and I promise you we will come back first thing"
Sally nodded in agreement
Adam took her hand and squeezed it, before entering the room
They saw Hadley asleep, Connor was reading by her bed
"How is she" Sally asked coming up to her
"She's good, she fell asleep about fifteen minutes ago" he informed her
Adam looked at Connor " Look Sally and I were thinking about going home and telling your sisters about what is happening"he said
Connor nodded "If you'd like I can stay the night with her, so you guys can spend some time with Mazie and Eden"he suggested
"Oh Con, we can't ask you to do that"Sally said
"You didn't, I'm offering"he came over and hugged her
"I love you"Sally hugged him
"Thank you son" Adam patted his back

     They stood outside their front door,Sally wrapped her arms from behind
"You ready for this"he asked placing his hands over hers
"No"he felt her shake her head "But we need to do this"she came in front of him "I don't want to tell them yet about the baby, I don't want to overwhelm them all this news"she told him
"That's fine" he kissed her forehead "One big news at a time"
When the girls heard the door open the ran open and jumped into their arms
Eden wrapped herself around Sally tightly
"Oh Eddy you have no idea how much I needed this hug" she squeezed her
Mazie hugged Adam, he bent down and  hugged her
"How's Haddie"Eden looked at Sally
"Girls we need to talk to you about what's going on with Hadley"Adam said looking at both Mazie and Eden
"Let's go sit in the living room"Sally told them
Mazie sat in between Sally and Adam while Eden was on Sally's lap. Coco left  to give them some time alone
"So you both know how your sister has been sick"Adam said
"Does she have a bad cold" Eden asked
"No baby it's more then just cold"Sally said leaning to look at Mazie as well "Your sister has something called leukemia"she paused looking at Adam
"What that is a type of cancer that effects Hadley's while blood cells. You see our bodies makes things called cells and they help fight gems so we don't get sick, Hadley's body is making white blood cells that aren't normal and those cells aren't able to help fight off those germs"Adam told them
Sally saw the looks on their faces "I know this seems so scary, believe me" she said softly
"How does she get better"Mazie asked
"She needs this thing called a bone marrow transplant. That's when a very special person matches with your sister, donates some of theirs and then that helps Hadley get better" Adam told them
"Can we go see her"Eden asked looking up at Sally
"Not right now, we have to be careful of germs around her. But once she strong enough Mama and Daddy will let you visit"Sally smiled
Mazie looked down, Adam wrapped his arm around her
Eden got a worried look on her face
"What is it Eddy"Adam asked
"Will she be home for Halloween"
Both Adam and Sally have each other a look, of course their five year old would ask
"It doesn't look like it"Sally kissed her head
Adam looked down at Mazie "Mazie Moo, you okay"
"Me and her are twins, will I get this"she looked scared at both Adam and Sally
Sally looked at Adam for a second "We pray you won't, but you don't need to worry okay" she said softly, kissing her head and laying her head against hers
They stayed like that for a few minutes
"I have an idea, how would you girls like to have a sleepover with us"Adam smiled at them
"Yes"Eden clapped "Can Bentley come"she asked
Sally started laughing knowing one Adam wasn't a fan and also he couldn't say no to her
"Sure"he said in defeat "I think we all could use a Bentley cuddle"he said as Bentley jumped up

They were all in the bed Mazie was laying across Adam asleep,while Eden was in between both of them but curled up more on Sally. And Bentley was laying on Sally his head resting on her stomach. Adam and Sally were both still awake
"You know if I would've known I wouldn't be able to hold you as I slept, I would have never suggested it" Adam joked
"Oh you poor baby"Sally teased him
Adam looked over at her "I'm jealous of Bentley"
She laughed, looking at Bentley "Do you think he senses "little one""she asked
Adam looked at her "That's the name you're going with"
"We are  running out of options"Sally  got sad look across her face "Adam, someone is missing at this slumber party"
Adam reached over and intertwined their fingers together "I know, this is why I suggested this, being with them" he looked at both of them sleeping "We need this...they needed us"
"Is it tomorrow yet"Sally said softly

First thing in the morning they did go back to the hospital. They saw Connor out in the hallway which concerned them
"Connor why are you out here"Sally asked anxiously
"Oh they just needed to check on her readings or something"he told her
Sally nodded then proceeded to enter the room
Connor turned to his Dad "I didn't want to disappoint Sally, but they informed me I'm not a match for Hadley. I'm sorry"he said
"Don't be I'm just thankful you tried to be"he hugged him
"She needs one soon doesn't, I thought I heard some the nurses mention it "
"The sooner the better, we just got to keep looking" Adam told him
"I believe you have found her match"a voice was heard
Both Adam and Connor turned around, Adam was stunned to see who it was
