"She gets it from you"

  They have been at the hospital for what felt like hour. Adam and Sally were in the room, Sally was sitting by Hadley's bedside stroking her hair as she was sleeping while Adam paced the room
"Adam" she said softly not looking at him
He stopped and turned to her "This is taking forever" he groaned "They should know what's going on with her by now"
"I know" she looked up at him "But your pacing helping"she reached for him "Come sit with us" she gave a small smile
Adam came over pulling a chair up next to her, taking her hand in his
"We just have to keep positive that it's nothing serious" she whispered resting her head on his shoulder

   A few minutes later the doctor walked in, alerting both Adam and Sally who stood up, Sally holding Hadley's hand
"Mr. and Mrs. Newman I'm so sorry for the long wait"he told them
"Did you figure out what is wrong our daughter"Adam asked
"Unfortunately not yet we need to do a couple more tests. A nurse will be by to draw some blood from Hadley"
"Why what for" Sally asked
"I know this overwhelming but this is standard to figure out what is wrong"he told her
Sally nodded and looked at Hadley who was half asleep

  Haddie was crying in Sally's arms, as Sally tried to soothe her
"It's okay Bean, you did so good" she said softly kissing her head
Adam leaned  his forehead on Haddie's "You are my brave girl"he smiled
"It hurt"she pouted
"I know its over"Sally said
"Can we go home now" she cried curled into Sally
Adam looked at Sally
"Ya, the doctor said we can go and they'll call us with the results" he told her
Sally nodded "Sure thing Bean"she rubbed her back

   They returned home, Adam carried Hadley up to her room. Sally looked on when Coco walked up to her
"How is she"Coco asked looking upstairs before looking back at her sister
Sally let out a defeated sigh and shrugged "We don't know yet. They are running a test said they'll call us when they know"she held back tears
Coco hugged her "Sally she's going to be okay, you got to have faith"
Sally nodded still hugging Coco
Adam came down the stairs as they pulled away "She is out like a light"he told her
"So how are Mazie and Eden" Sally asked
"Good, Eden is coloring a picture for Haddie"Coco smiled
"And Maz"Adam asked
"She's watching a movie in the living room" she informed them
Adam pulled Sally into him and held her "Come on  let's get you something to eat and while Hadley rests we spend time with our girls" he said

   Later that evening the family was sitting in the family room. Adam was sitting in the chair with Mazie on his lap. Eden was laying on the floor with Bentley, Sally was laying on the couch with Hadley laying on her
"How is she" Adam looked over
"About the same" she looked down
"Do I have to sleep in Eden's room tonight" Mazie asked looking at her Daddy
Adam looked at Sally, she shook her head
"No you don't"he told her
"On that note, girls go get ready for bed"Sally told them as she ran her fingers through Hadley's hair
Both girls ran upstairs, Adam saw the concern on Sally's face
"Sal, what is it" he asked
"I didn't want to scare the girls"she looked at Haddie
Adam came over to her "What's wrong" he got worried
"She's burning up again" she got tears in her eyes
Adam grabbed Hadley "Come on let's go give her a cool bath in our bathroom" he said heading up

   Sally sat on the tub watching Adam gently run cool water on Haddie with a washcloth
"Does that feel good Bean"he asked
Hadley just nodded
"Daddy" Mazie called for him from her room
"Go, I'll take over"Sally said taking the washcloth from him
Adam kissed her cheek before leaving
Sally continued what Adam was doing
"Mommy can I sleep in your room tonight"Hadley asked
"Of course you can"she smiled, she picked her up "Come on let's go get up i into some warm jammies

  Adam was in Mazie's room, tucking her into bed
"You have sweet dreams okay. As soon as Mommy is done with Hadley she come in and say goodnight"he told her kissing her head
"Okay" Mazie said hugging him "Love you"
"Love you too Mazie Moo" he said.
Adam left and went back into their room. Sally was in bed with Hadley laying beside her stroking her back
"Did it go down"he asked
"No, she wanted to sleep with us tonight. I couldn't say no" she said looking at her
Adam got into bed and kissed Haddie's head "I don't think i would have been able too either" he whispered he looked at Sally "Sal,we are going to find out what's wrong soon"
"I hope so, because not being able to help her"she said
"I know" he took her hand "Why don't you go say goodnight to Maz and Eddy"he told her moving Hadley off Sally and onto him
"You got her"Sally asked sitting up
"Ya I got her"he said softly

  Sally came into Mazie and Hadley's room. Sally saw Mazie laying in bed looking at Hadley's empty bed
"Hey Mazie Moo" she said softly
"Is Hadley not sleeping in her tonight,did she go into Eden's room"she asked
"No, she's sleeping in mine and Daddy's room"she told her
"Can you read to me"Mazie asked
Sally smiled "Scoot over" she came up to her
    After a few minutes Sally kissed Mazie's head who was almost asleep
"I love you, my Mazie Moo"she covered her up a little more
Sally then went to say goodnight to Eden. She opened the door and found Bentley in Eden's bed with her
"Eden Rain, you know the rules the dog is not supposed to be upstairs or in your bed" she scolded her
"He followed me"Eden told her mother
Sally put her hands on her hips "Did he now"she looked over at the dog "Bentley you know better" she motioned for him to get off
Bentley jumped off the bed but curled up laying on the floor next to her bed
"You may sleep in here for tonight"she told him giving him some love
Sally then sat on Eden's bed "Do you want a story or a song tonight" she asked
"I don't get both of you"she asked
"Not tonight Bug, Hadley's sleeping on him right now. But did he give you your goodnight kisses"she asked
Eden nodded "Mama"she said
"Ya Bug" Sally asked moving pieces of her hair out of Eden's face
"What's wrong with Haddie" she asked
"She's just a little sick right now" Sally told her
"Will I get sick too" Eden asked
"I hope not, but if you do Mama and Daddy will take of you" she kissed her
"I just want you to hold me til I fall asleep"Eden told her
Sally laid with baby watching her fall asleep which didn't take long

  Sally came back into their room, Adam was reading still stroking Haddie's hair
"I caught your daughter with the dog in her room" she said putting on lotion
"Which one" he asked
"The little one"she looked over her shoulder "I told him he can sleep on the floor only for tonight"she informed him
Adam shook his head and chuckled
"What is so funny" Sally looked confused
"She gets it from you"Adam smiled
"No she doesn't"she acted shocked " I never snuck him in, he just showed up"
"You're right, but you let him stay in bed with us"
Sally playfully rolled her eyes "Okay fine, she gets it from me"she laughed
Sally got into bed, Adam set his book down and took her hand
"We will get answers soon Sal"he said
"How did you know I was.."
Adam looked at her "It's all keep thinking about too"he said
"I love you"she whispered
"You know I love you"he smiled
They laid down falling asleep watching their daughter
