This little bit was the original draft for chapter 25 of Call My Name, but halfway through writing I changed my mind, but I thought you guys might like to read it anyway
Taylor's POV
I couldn't believe this. One second I'd just been singing, and as soon as he could, Travis had pulled me into the most incredible kiss I'd ever had in my life. My head was spinning.
"Why are you kissing me?" I breathed out as I rested my forehead against Travis'.
"Because I'm falling for you." Travis whispered, stroking my cheeks adoringly. "Sunshine I think I've always been falling for you. I want you. I need you."
"You do?" I asked, in awe that someone might actually want me the way Travis seemed to.
"Do you?"
"Yes." I realized, tightening my arms around Travis' neck. "Yes, I do Travis. I need you. I'm falling for you."
Travis kissed me again, and I melted into his arms at the feeling of his lips. He kissed me so lovingly, held me so gently. Because he already knew me, knew my head and heart and soul and he'd known all of that before wanting to kiss me. I'd never felt so light, so alive, and tears started running down my cheeks as I kissed him back.
"Well, well, ladies and gentleman I think we might have just witnessed a first kiss!" The redhead cheered when we broke apart. Everyone started clapping and I blushed, ducking my head to hide her face as I realized we'd had our first kiss in the middle of a public market. Travis laughed, putting his arms around me and pressing his lips to my hair.
"Come on Sunshine." Travis murmured in my ear. "Let's go somewhere a little quieter."
I nodded, and Travis slipped his hand down, sliding his fingers into mine. We'd held hands many times before, but this felt so different, so much more intimate and personal.
He led me away, holding me close against his side as we walked. I blushed as Travis led me down the other end of the market, up the little grass hill it was next to. We sat down up the top where a few other families and friends and couples were hanging out, and Travis put his arm around my shoulders.
"So." He whispered, and I lifted my head to look at him. "Sunshine will you be my girl?" Travis tucked his free hand under my chin, stroking my bottom lip with his thumb. "Let me take you on proper dates, spoil you, you and Benji." He placed his lips against my cheek. "Will you Sunshine?"
"I will." I breathed. "As long as you know that..."
"I know." Travis gently cut me off. "I know what you come with Sunshine, I've been with you for months. I know the bad and the ugly but I know the beautiful and kind and loving and hopeful." He stroked some hair out of my face. "So I don't need you to warn me."
"Okay." I whispered, a small smile on my face.
"Okay." Travis smiled.
"Okay." I smiled wider, lifting my chin higher. Travis' lips found mine and he kissed me again, lighting my hear on fire. I sighed, slipping one hand up his chest to rest against his neck.
It was an out of this world experience as we kissed softly, sitting close together on the sloped hill. God, I was thirty four and this was the first proper, loving kiss I thought I had ever felt. Travis kissed me like he truly cared, because I knew he did. He'd proven it over and over again these last few months.
"Oh Sunshine." Travis sighed when we pulled away to breathe, his breath washing over my lips. "I am so insane about you. I can't stop thinking about you. All those nights..." His lips found mine again. "I just wanted to make it all go away."
"You did." I whispered. "You've made my life so much brighter Travis. I need you."
"I need you, fuck." Travis breathed out. "You might need me but God Sunshine I need you to breathe. You saved me."
"Travis." I swallowed. "I have never needed someone as much as I need you. No one's been able to keep my feet on the ground like you have. You are the perfect person for me."
"God, come here Sunshine." Travis pulled me close and I wrapped my arms around him, relaxing as he hugged me. I felt so safe and content in his arms, and I rested my head against Travis' shoulder as I closed my eyes.
We sat there for a while, content in each other's silent company, and occasionally Travis would lift my chin to kiss me like he was in awe that he could. And I was too. I was in such shock that all of a sudden Travis was calling me his girl, but I loved it. I didn't think I'd ever be ready for a boyfriend again, but Travis had woven his way into my life and grabbed my heart. I was his girl now, more than I'd ever been before.
"Travis?" I whispered.
"Sunshine." He murmured back, stroking my hair.
"Are you going to break up with me if I get bad again?" I asked tentatively, because in all honestly, I was scared of that.
"Oh, no, no." Travis pulled me closer and pressed his lips to my forehead. "No Sunshine, never." He whispered. "I would never do that. I know sometimes you find things hard and I will always be there to hold you up if you don't have the energy to do it yourself. You are my person and you have my whole heart Sunshine."
I let out a sob, throwing my arms around his neck and pulling him into a tight hug. Travis took my weight and moved me onto his lap like a baby, almost rocking me comfortingly as I hugged him. I was overwhelmed with how he'd told me he felt, needing something physical to cling to as I processed it. But I did. I had him.
