Taylor's POV

"Okay Taylor, quick before he comes out." Donna ushered me in through the back door and I stifled a laugh as I dashed through the house.

We were trying to surprise Travis, and he'd just gone to the bathroom so I had a minute to sneak in and hide. It was Christmas Day, and him and I hadn't seen each other in person for three months. Our schedules had both been jam packed busy and it had absolutely sucked, but I'd forced some thing to move around and just flown in to Kansas City where everyone else had gone to Travis' house for the holiday.

I was so excited to see him again. Travis and I had spent so much time on the phone these last few weeks, missing each other like crazy. I was so glad my schedule had relented enough for me to make it out, and I was going to hide in a big present box for Travis to open soon.

"You okay honey?" Donna asked as she helped me into the box and I crouched down. I gave her a thumbs up, and she smiled at me before closing the lid.

Trying to breathe quietly, I waited as I heard Travis' family moving around. Ed, Jason, and Kylie knew I was here, but we hadn't told the girls since they wouldn't be able to keep a secret. I could surprise them as well, especially with my car stacked full of presents outside. As usual, I hadn't been able to resist spoiling them beyond belief. I couldn't help it. I loved them so much.

"What the hell is that?" I heard Travis' voice nearby and smiled to myself, putting a hand over my mouth so I wouldn't make any noise.

"It has your name on it Uncle Trav!" Wyatt squealed. "Issa present for you!"

"You sure girlie?" He grunted like he was picking her up, and she let out peals of laughter at whatever he was doing.

"Yes Uncle Trav! Open it open it!" Elliotte insisted.

"Alright, if you say so." Travis sighed at them, and I heard his footsteps come over. "Seriously guys, this is a big box." He said, and everyone laughed.

The cardboard flaps above me shifted, and I smiled wider as they opened. When I had room, I jumped to my feet. Travis jumped, getting a fright at my sudden appearance, his eyes going wide as he stared at me in disbelief.

"Surprise!" I giggled. "Merry Christmas!"

Travis just stared at me in total shock like I was the last thing he ever expected to see, standing frozen in the middle of the room. I swallowed nervously, glancing over at Donna. She was watching Travis as well. All of us were. Jason and Kylie were holding the girls so they didn't run over into the middle of us, wanting Travis to see me first.

"Taylor?" Travis whispered. I bit my lip. "Oh my god!" He sobbed, rushing to pull me tightly into his arms. Travis started to cry as he buried his face in my neck, his whole body shaking with sobs. His hands clutched at my waist almost too tightly, but I didn't care.

"Hi baby, hi." I whispered, wrapping my arms around his neck and lifting up on my toes. "God I missed you so much, I missed you so so much." I mumbled into his ear, one of my hands stroking up the back of his neck. I buried one hand into his hair, wanting to hold him close.

Travis' tears soaked the neck of my shirt as he clutched me tightly, unable to form words. I hadn't expected such an emotional reaction from him, but I also understood. I'd missed him so much it had felt like a piece of my heart had been ripped out, and only now was it back in place. Travis was less experienced at battling through long distance than I was, so this must be hitting him so much harder. I couldn't even imagine.

"It's okay baby." I whispered, closing my eyes as I tried to soothe Travis. He seemed to be unable to stop crying, which I understood. I should have known he would react this way and probably should have surprised him in private, but I couldn't change anything now.
